Career Highlights:

When Pavelski was named to Team USA in 2010, he was considered an up-and-coming player in the NHL. Four years later, he's established himself as one of the most skilled and dependable centers in the league for the San Jose Sharks. Pavelski was in his fourth season in 2010 and went on to record his second straight 25-goal campaign after the Vancouver Games. At the Olympics, Pavelski finished with three assists in six games as the Americans took silver. In the gold-medal game against Canada, he won a crucial faceoff that led to Zach Parise's tying goal with 24 seconds left in regulation before Team USA fell in overtime for its only defeat of the tournament. Pavelski set a career high with 46 assists in 2010-11 and netted a career-best 31 goals the following season. The Wisconsin native already has 29 goals through 59 games this season, leading to his second nod to represent Team USA at the Olympics. Pavelski wasn't highly thought of as a seventh-round draft pick in 2003, but he entered the 2013-14 season with a plus-41 rating that was tied for 17th in the NHL among centers from 2006-13. He's scored at least 20 goals in the last five full NHL seasons while adding 16 in the 2013 lockout-shortened campaign. Pavelski also has won at least 51.8 percent of his faceoffs each of the last six seasons and is on pace to do so again. His playmaking ability makes him an asset for Team USA.
