Scouting Report

OVERVIEW
In a draft class filled with playmakers and wings, Mobley projects as a highly capable center who fits well in today's NBA. He is a tremendous defender and a productive offensive player who averaged 16.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.9 blocks per game during his lone season with the Trojans. He turned 20 years old in June.
ANALYSIS
Positives: Mobley has the potential to be a difference maker on the defensive end, whether that means protecting the paint or disrupting shooters on the perimeter. He has an enormous wingspan and the athleticism to keep pace with opponents on the wing. Meanwhile, on offense, Mobley showed that he can be a skilled passer and finish off plenty of high-percentage shots at or near the rim. It is hard to find skilled big men in the NBA, and the team that nabs Mobley could have an advantage for years going forward.
Negatives: Mobley will need to get stronger and fill out his 7-foot frame. That is something he can and should be able to do, but it could take a season or two for him to gain enough strength to become a dominant threat in the paint. Mobley's potential is unmistakable and he could develop into an All-Star, but it might not be immediate.
