Final Score: Arkansas 19, Tulsa 15

Fayetteville, AR (Sports Network) - Dennis Johnson ran for two touchdowns, including the game-winner in the fourth quarter, as the Arkansas Razorbacks defeated the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 19-15, in a non-conference bout at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Johnson carried the Razorbacks' (4-5) offense, rushing for 109 yards and the two scores while also picking up 43 yards receiving. Tyler Wilson completed 21-of-31 passes for 272 yards and a pick, and Cobi Hamilton brought in 11 catches for 177 yards.

Tulsa (7-2) had won seven straight before today's loss. Quarterback Cody Green threw for 222 yards and ran for 24 yards but didn't produce any touchdowns. Tre Watts picked up 81 yards and a touchdown on the ground while Keyarris Garrett had 12 receptions for 94 yards.

The Razorbacks jumped out to a quick lead thanks to a seven-play, 75-yard drive to begin the game, which was capped off by a Johnson eight-yard touchdown run. Arkansas extended its lead later in the quarter on Zach Hocker's 31-yard field goal.

After Daniel Schwarz missed a field goal on Tulsa's first possession, it bounced back and scored on Alex Singleton's one-yard touchdown run to open the second quarter. Following a failed extra point, Arkansas' lead was 10-6.

Hocker made his second field goal of the day for the Razorbacks midway through the second quarter before Watts made a defender miss and took it 29 yards for another Tulsa touchdown, but again the Hurricane failed to convert the PAT. What could have been a one-point Tulsa advantage was a one-point deficit heading into halftime.

Schwarz redeemed himself early in the third quarter when his 29-yard field goal gave Tulsa its first lead of the day. Both offenses struggled for the rest of the period and Tulsa led heading into the final quarter.

Arkansas executed an impressive scoring drive early in the fourth quarter. Three straight Wilson completions for 75 yards led to a one-yard Johnson touchdown run. Arkansas opted to go for a two-point conversion but Wilson was stopped short of the goal line, and its lead was four with 10:08 remaining.

The Hurricane's final three possessions ended with a punt, a turnover on downs, and a fumble, and Arkansas was able to hold on for a win. A lot of credit goes to the Arkansas defense, which held Tulsa to 3-of-15 on third downs.

Hamilton's record-breaking season continued for the Razorbacks. With his 11 catches, he passed Jarius Wright for the all-time single-season school record for receptions (69), and he moved into second place on the single- season receiving yards list (1,177).

Arkansas improves to 54-15-3 all-time against Tulsa.
