GAME NOTES: Without leading scorer Chris Fouch for the remainder of the season, the Drexel Dragons get back to work on Saturday with a non-conference home game against Rider.

The Dragons are coming off a victory over Rice, 55-47, in the third and final game of the DirecTV Classic in Anaheim, California on Sunday. the victory was just the second on the year for a Drexel team that came into the season with extremely high hopes. Following this contest, Bruiser Flint's squad will take to the road for three straight games, starting with Tuesday's trip to Knoxville against Tennessee.

Rider, which returned just two starters for the 2012-13 season, dropped a 63-52 decision to La Salle at home on Thursday night. The loss halted a brief two-game win streak for the Broncs, and leaves them even on the year at 4-4. Rider will being MAAC play next week against Siena.

Drexel leads the all-time series 30-26 and has won the last four meetings. These teams played a 6 a.m. game last season with the Dragons snapping a tie game at the half with a 10-2 run, on the way to an 80-62 triumph at Rider. The last time Rider came to Philadelphia, Drexel won in overtime, 71-67, on Dec. 11, 2010.

Anthony Myles and Daniel Stewart each went for 12 points and nine rebounds for the Broncs in their most recent game. Nurideen Lindsey, who came into the contest as the team's leading scorer, netted just five points and converted just 3-of-7 attempts from the foul line. Lindsey averages a team-best 14.3 points, while Myles (14.0) and Jonathon Thompson (10.4) are also in double figures. Stewart (9.4 ppg, 5.9 rpg) and sophomore center Junior Fortunat (4.0 ppg, 3.9 rpg) round out the starting five.

Fouch, who averaged 16.7 points over his first three contests, fractured his ankle in a Nov. 17 game against Penn. Trenton Catholic graduate Frantz Massenat has picked up the offense by averaging close to 15 points (14.7) and five assists per game. Damion Lee leads the team with 14.8 ppg. Dartaye Ruffin, who moved into the starting lineup to replace the graduated Samme Givens, is shooting 54.5 percent from the floor and is averaging 9.7 points and 6.5 boards per game. Daryl McCoy paces the squad with 7.2 rebounds, while redshirt freshman Tavon Allen provides a spark off the bench with 12 points per game.

There is no denying the fact that Drexel will miss Fouch the rest of the way. However, Massenat and company are more than capable to turn things around and get Drexel back on course. It could start Saturday against Rider.
