Troy, AL (Sports Network) - T.J. Price recorded a double-double with a game- high 23 points and 11 rebounds as the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers registered a 75-71 win over the Troy Trojans in Sun Belt Conference action at Trojan Arena.
Also posting a double-double for the Hilltoppers (6-2, 2-0 Sun Belt) was George Fant with 18 points and 10 rebounds as the team won for the fourth time in as many outings. Coming up a rebound shy of a double-double himself was backup Teeng Akol who dropped in 14 points in just 20 minutes off the bench.
The Trojans (4-5, 0-2) were paced by Antoine Myers who tallied 20 points, followed by Deonata Jethroe and Emil Jones with 16 and 14 points, respectively, as they lost for the third straight game.
Troy came out strong in the first half, shooting 57.1 percent from the floor, including 5-of-10 behind the three-point line, which allowed the squad to take a 43-35 advantage at the break.
In the second half the lead reached as high as 13 for the Trojans, but the hosts made only 2-of-7 shots on the perimeter which allowed WKU to chip away and eventually assume the lead, en route to the four-point decision.
Western Kentucky held a huge 43-23 advantage on the glass, the team's 20 offensive rebounds leading to 26 second-chance points.
