Oxford, MS (Sports Network) - Murphy Holloway and Reginald Buckner each recorded double-doubles for Ole Miss as the Rebels took down the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 80-67, in a non-conference bout at Tad Smith Coliseum.
Holloway finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds and Buckner had 14 points and 11 rebounds while blocking three shots for Ole Miss (6-0). Marshall Henderson led the team with 18 points, LaDarius White added 13 and Jarvis Summers chipped in 12 points to go with five assists.
Myles Mack scored 15 points and handed out five assists for Rutgers (4-2) which had won four straight games. Dane Miller added 14 points and Eli Carter chipped in 10 on just 1-of-12 shooting. Wally Judge led the way with nine rebounds.
It was Rutgers that held a 36-32 lead at halftime after shooting 40.0 percent from the floor while holding Ole Miss to 35.3 percent shooting.
The Rebels heated up in the second half netting 53.3 percent of its field goal attempts, including 5-of-12 from beyond the arc, as they pulled away for the win.
Ole Miss turned 14 Rutgers' turnovers into 18 points and outscored the Scarlet Knights 15-7 on second chance points.
