Cavs' Irving sidelined three weeks with shoulder sprain Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving will miss at least three weeks because of a sprained shoulder. Irving was hurt during Sunday's game against Toronto when he collided with Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas. X-rays taken Sunday were negative, but an MRI exam on Monday revealed a left AC (acromioclavicular) sprain. The Cavaliers said Irving will undergo rest and treatment for the injury. He could be sidelined for as long as a month. Irving has already missed 14 games this season because of various ailments. He missed 11 games between Nov. 21 and Dec. 8 due to a broken finger and sat out three games between Feb. 26 and March 1 because of a sore right knee. In 49 games this season, the Duke product has averaged team bests of 23.0 points and 5.7 assists. 03/11 14:55:57 ET Powered by The Sports Network. |
