NCAA Game Summary - Massachusetts at St. Bonaventure

(Wednesday, February 20)

Final Score: St. Bonaventure 99, Massachusetts 94

St. Bonaventure, NY (Sports Network) - Eric Mosley dropped a career-high 39 points on 12-of-18 from the field to lead the St. Bonaventure Bonnies to a 99-94 decision over the Massachusetts Minutemen in an Atlantic 10 showdown at the Reilly Center.

Chris Johnson also had a career night with 22 points as St. Bonaventure (12-13, 5-7 A-10) snapped a two-game losing skid. Demitrius Conger added his third double-double of the season with 16 points and 13 boards.

Chaz Williams was terrific in the loss for UMass (16-9, 6-6) with 26 points, 12 assists and four steals. Terrell Vinson scored 20 points before fouling out, Freddie Riley notched 17 points, Cady Lalanne shot 6-of-7 for 12 points, and Raphiael Putney grabbed 12 rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench.

Mosley netted 18 of his 39 points in the first half to give the Bonnies a 38-31 halftime advantage. UMass turned the ball over 12 times and shot just 38.7 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.

St. Bonaventure attacked the rim in the second half and shot a spectacular 27- of-28 from the free throw line. The Bonnies held a slight lead for most of the half until Vinson scored seven straight points to tie the score at 85-85 with 2:14 remaining. Williams gave the Minutemen the lead with an old fashioned three-point play moments later, but it was all St. Bonaventure from that play on. Youssou Ndoye gave it the lead back with a layup on the next possession, and Conger and Johnson combined to shoot 8-of-8 from the foul line to seal the deal.

The Bonnies enjoyed an incredible night from the foul line, missing just one of their 33 attempts from the stripe (.970).
