Scott's hearing set for Thursday

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Buffalo Sabres enforcer John Scott will have his in-person hearing with the league's Department of Player Safety next Thursday.

The league revealed in a release on Friday that Scott, who has not played since this past Wednesday after receiving a match penalty for an illegal check to the head of Boston's Loui Eriksson in the third period of a 5-2 Bruins victory, will have to wait almost one more week for Brendan Shanahan's ultimate ruling.

In-person hearings are required under the Collective Bargaining Agreement for any suspension that can exceed five games.

Eriksson was helped to the dressing room and did not return to the game. He remained hospitalized overnight in Buffalo for observation. The Bruins reported Thursday that Eriksson suffered a concussion and will be out indefinitely.
