Panthers give G Clemmensen two-year extension

Sunrise, FL (Sports Network) - The Florida Panthers and goaltender Scott Clemmensen have agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension.

Clemmensen went 14-6-6 with a 2.57 goals against average and one shutout in 30 games for the Panthers last season. In three playoff contests, he went 1-2 with a 2.35 GAA.

"Scott is a high-character, hard-working player who is a true professional in every sense," Panthers general manager Dale Tallon said. "He stepped in and played very well in some tough games for us last season, including recording wins against Los Angeles, Vancouver, San Jose, Washington and Philadelphia. We are very pleased to have him back with our club and look forward to his continued contributions to our organization both on and off the ice."

The 34-year-old Clemmensen has posted a 64-45-20 mark with a 2.64 GAA in 152 career NHL games with New Jersey, Toronto and Florida.
