Description: According to the Houston Chronicle, Texans running back Arian Foster (hamstring) increased his activity in Tuesday's practice.
Insight: Foster has been dealing with a hamstring injury and is questionable for the third preseason game. He has a huge workload coming his way if he can stay healthy.

Description: According to Dave Zangaro of csnhouston.com, Texans running back Arian Foster (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday.
Insight: Foster didn't participate in the entire session, as the team is likely trying to manage his reps to make sure he gets to the regular season 100 percent healthy. The running back will likely finish in the top three in the NFL in touches if he stays on the field.

8/10/2014 8:31:00 PM
Description: According to houstontexans.com, Texans coach Bill O'Brien said Arian Foster is close to returning from a hamstring injury.
Insight: Foster has missed most of camp with a hamstring injury, but O'Brien said the running back has a chance to play in the team's second preseason game. We'll see if he returns to practice this week. Foster remains a high-risk, high-reward first-round fantasy pick.

8/3/2014 1:28:00 PM
Description: Texans running back Arian Foster continues to miss training camp due to a hamstring injury and Sunday was the fourth straight day of missing practice.
Insight: This doesn't appear to be a serious injury, but with Foster you always have to worry. He has top-five ability if healthy for a full season, but he missed eight games last season and three in 2011.

Description: The Texans would like to use Arian Foster more in the passing game next season. SOURCE: MyFoxHouston.com
Insight: Foster has good hands for a halfback, averaging 405.3 receiving yards per season since 2010. Opting for shorter passes could also improve Ryan Fitzpatrick's completion percentage. It's a win/win for everyone.

3/16/2014 12:59:00 PM
Description: Arian Foster tweeted that he's been medically cleared. The Texans halfback underwent back surgery in November.
Insight: Foster ran for 4.5 yards per carry last season which is consistent with his career average. With Houston likely to use a rookie quarterback in 2014, Foster is going to see a ton of work next season. He should be a first-round pick in most fantasy drafts this summer.

2/21/2014 4:18:00 PM
Description: Houston running back Arian Foster (season-ending back surgery on November 15th) is progressing on schedule, according to GM Rick Smith.
Insight: Foster should be ready for training camp, but his inability to stay healthy has to concern fantasy owners and the Texans. Ben Tate is likely to leave in free agency so expect Houston to draft a running back not long after selecting a quarterback of the future.

11/15/2013 10:05:00 AM
Description: Houston running back Arian Foster, already on season-ending injured reserve, had back surgery on Thursday.
Insight: Foster should be ready for training camp. Ben Tate and Dennis Johnson will handle the Texans running game with Tate doing most of the heavy lifting.

Insight: Foster needs back surgery. He'll hand over the backfield duties to Ben Tate, who figures to be a solid flex play/RB2 in Foster's absence. Foster ran for 542 yards on 121 carries before the injury.

Description: Fantasy owners shouldn't count on a speedy recovery from Arian Foster. The Houston running back appears to be headed for season-ending back surgery. SOURCE: Ian Rapoport, NFL Network
Insight: The Texans' nightmare season continues. Foster will finish the season with 542 yards on 121 carries. He scored just two touchdowns (one receiving, one rushing). If you've been stashing Ben Tate as a handcuff, now is the time to get him into your starting lineup.

11/8/2013 2:13:00 PM
Description: Texans running back Arian Foster may need back surgery, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle .
Insight: Foster has seen doctors the last two days to try and diagnose his back injury. Given the Texans season is pretty much a lost cause, he might opt to fix his back as soon as possible in hopes to be ready for next season. Ben Tate becomes a solid fantasy value if Foster is out of the picture.

Insight: Foster has seen doctors the last two days to try and diagnose his back injury. He's unlikely to play Sunday against the Cardinals after leaving early in each of the last two games. Ben Tate, who is also banged up with broken ribs, will start in Foster's place after rushing for 81 yards on 22 carries Sunday night and is a solid flex option.

Description: Houston halfback Arian Foster wasn't able to practice on Wednesday. SOURCE: Tania Ganguli, ESPN
Insight: Injuries to Foster's back and hamstring cost him most of last week's game against the Colts. We're guessing he won't be ready in time for Sunday's game at Arizona. If that is the case, Ben Tate, who is also banged up (broken ribs), would likely start in Foster's place.

11/4/2013 11:18:00 AM
Description: Texans running back Arian Foster missed most of Sunday night's game with a back injury suffered in the first drive of the night.
Insight: Ben Tate and Dennis Johnson took over the rushing duties and both performed adequately. Add the back to Foster's ongoing list of ailments as the Texans running back has begun to look more and more like a Darren McFadden clone.

11/3/2013 6:05:00 PM
Description: Texans running back Arian Foster (hamstring) will play Sunday night against the Colts, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Insight: Foster got in some limited practice sessions during the week but was a game-time decision due to his hamstring injury. Owners who rolled the dice will have him active Sunday night, though it's unclear how close to 100 percent he is. Look for a closer workload split than usual with Ben Tate (ribs), who is also active Sunday night.

Description: Houston coach Gary Kubiak says Texans halfback Arian Foster (hamstring) will be a game-time decision Sunday against the Colts. SOURCE: Kevin Bowen, Colts.com
Insight: His backup Ben Tate (ribs) appears to be in the same boat. What makes this a particularly tough scenario for fantasy owners is that Houston doesn't play until Sunday night. Fantasy owners should prepare to be without Foster in Week 9.

Description: Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Monday that he doesn't think he'll know anything regarding the Week 9 status of running backs Arian Foster (hamstring) and Ben Tate (broken ribs) until later in the week. SOURCE: Houston Chronicle
Insight: Neither player practiced Monday. Tate said he expects to play Sunday against the Colts, while Foster would only say he expects to practice this week before making a decision closer to Sunday.

10/22/2013 7:16:00 PM
Description: Texans running back Arian Foster (hamstring) expects to play in Week 9, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.
Insight: Foster came into Sunday's game dealing with injuries to his thumb, chest and hamstring, and he didn't last long before aggravating his hamstring issue. Houston has a bye in Week 8 so Foster has plenty of time to recover for Week 9.

10/21/2013 10:59:00 AM
Description: Texans running back Arian Foster (hamstring) couldn't finish the game against Kansas City, but Houston has a Week 8 bye so he has two weeks to recover.
Insight: Foster came into the game dealing with injuries to his thumb, chest and hamstring, and he didn't last long. Ben Tate would inherit the workload if Foster isn't ready to play in Week 9.
