Description: It's official. Washington receiver Leonard Hankerson is headed for season-ending surgery on his left knee. SOURCE: John Keim, ESPN
Insight: As if beating San Francisco on Monday night wasn't a daunting enough task already. Hankerson's absence only makes things harder for an offense that has struggled to get out of its own way in recent weeks. The Redskins already have more losses than last season and it's only Week 12.

Description: Redskins wideout Leonard Hankerson could be headed for surgery on his injured knee. SOURCE: Chris Russell, ESPN Radio 980
Insight: Hankerson suffered the injury in Sunday's loss to Philadelphia. Obviously, surgery would put an end to his season. In ten games this season, Hankerson has 30 catches for 375 yards and three touchdowns.

Description: Washington receiver Leonard Hankerson injured his groin in Friday's practice and has been added to the injury report, according to beat reporter Chris Russell.
Insight: Hankerson had a big Week 1 with a pair of scores and 80 yards on five catches, but returned to earth against Green Bay with three receptions for 35 yards. Pierre Garcon is still the number one receiving option, but Josh Morgan might be next if Hankerson is inactive.
10/7/2012 11:47:00 AM
Description: Receiver Leonard Hankerson has been displaced in the starting lineup by Josh Morgan, according to Rich Campbell of the Washington Times.
Insight: Morgan started the season as the No. 2 receiver behind Pierre Garcon but Hankerson was seemingly elevated over him on the depth chart the last few weeks. Hankerson has 13 catches for 181 yards and a touchdown to Morgan's 12 for 155 and zero this season. Stay away from both players on Sunday if you can; if you have to play one of them we'd still recommend Hankerson for his big-play ability.
9/24/2012 4:37:00 PM
Description: According to the Redskins' official Twitter account, Washington coach Mike Shanahan said Monday that receiver Leonard Hankerson has played "well enough to earn a starting job."
Insight: Hankerson will start at split end with Pierre Garcon out and will presumably replace Joshua Morgan on the other side when Garcon returns. The receiver saw seven targets in Week 3, catching four passes for 56 yards. Fantasy owners should take a shot with Hankerson.
9/24/2012 3:45:00 PM
Description: Redskins beat writer Grant Paulsen reports that wideout Leonard Hankerson was taken for precautionary x-rays after a helmet-to-melmet hit in the fourth quarter on Sunday.
Insight: Hankerson is the Redskins deep threat when Pierre Garcon (foot) is injured as he has been the past two weeks. Hankerson had four catches for 56 yards before the injury. We should know more on Tuesday.
9/21/2012 6:17:00 PM
Description: Redskins beat writer Zac Boyer said "it seems very likely" Leonard Hankerson would be Washington's starting split end this Sunday if Pierre Garcon (foot) can't go.
Insight: Aldrick Robinson started last week but he dropped a long pass from Robert Griffin III in the second half while Hankerson caught a 68-yard touchdown. We like Hankerson as a WR3 if Garcon sits this week.
8/15/2012 2:23:00 PM
Description: Redskins receiver Leonard Hankerson, who had to be helped off the field on Tuesday due to dehydration according to the Washington Post, was back at practice on Wednesday.
Insight: Hankerson caught 13 balls for 163 yards in four games before an injury ended his season, but is expected to be a big part of the Redskins offense as the No. 3 receiver behind aging Santana Moss and newly acquired Pierre Garcon.

Description: Redskins No. 3 receiver, Leonard Hankerson, had to be helped off the field on Tuesday according to Washington Post's Mike Jones. It was believed to be heat-related.
Insight: Hankerson, who in 2011 caught 13 balls for 163 yards in four games before an injury ended his season, is expected to be a big part of the Redskins offense as the guy behind aging Santana Moss and newly acquired Pierre Garcon.
