Description: Betts had 13 carries for 47 yards along with four catches for 23 yards against the Panthers on Sunday.
Insight: Betts got significant work with Pierre Thomas (ankle) out, and he will again go back down the depth chart when Thomas is able to play. (RapidDraft.com)

10/3/2010 12:04:00 PM
Description: Pierre Thomas is inactive for the Saints in Week 4, leaving Ladell Betts as the presumptive lead back.
Insight: Look for the Saints to go pass-heavy in this game. Betts is a better fantasy option than Chris Ivory, but you have to be in a pinch for him to look at all attractive. (RapidDraft.com)

10/1/2010 9:45:00 AM
Description: There is belief that Saints RB Ladell Betts would be the feature back if RB Pierre Thomas (ankle) is kept out against the Panthers. SOURCE: NEWORLEANS.COM
Insight: Betts has been given the bulk of the first-team carries this week and is much better at pass blocking then Chris Ivory. Betts has shown in the past that he can handle the duties when given the chance, so he may be the one to target if you're a Thomas owner.

9/30/2010 11:03:00 PM
Description: Brian Allee-Walsh of New Orleans.com reports Betts will handle feature back duties for the Saints on Sunday if Pierre Thomas (ankle) is out.
Insight: The team is still hopeful Thomas can practice on Friday and play on Sunday. (RapidDraft.com)

9/22/2010 3:00:00 PM
Description: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, via Twitter, that the Saints have signed Betts to a one-year, $800,000 contract.
Insight: Betts will provide the Saints with some backfield depth, but is extremely unlikely to be a fantasy factor at all. (RapidDraft.com)

9/21/2010 5:01:00 PM
Description: NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports, via Twitter, that the Saints will bring Betts in for a workout.
Insight: With Reggie Bush (right leg) out 4-6 weeks, the Saints are looking for RB depth. Even if he is brought in, Betts is very unlikely to be a fantasy factor. (RapidDraft.com)

8/30/2010 12:02:00 PM
Description: The New Orleans Times Picayune reports the Saints want to keep Betts and Chris Ivory behind Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush this season.
Insight: Betts is coming off a torn ACL and MCL last season, and is likely to be nothing more than injury insurance. (Rapid Draft.com)

8/16/2010 9:47:00 PM
Description: ESPN.com reports the Saints have signed Betts to a one-year, %805,000 contract, including a $50,000 signing bonus.
Insight: Betts is coming off a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee, and may not even make the Saints' final roster. (Rapid Draft.com)

8/16/2010 8:51:00 PM
Description: Saints signed RB Ladell Betts to a one-year, $805,000 contract, including a $50,000 signing bonus. SOURCE: ESPN.COM
Insight: Betts was signed for merely depth behind Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush. At 31 and coming off knee surgery, he isn't any significant threat to steal any meaningful carries from Thomas.

7/16/2010 11:51:00 AM
Description: Free agent RB Ladell Betts (ACL surgery) is said to be taking his time in finding a new team this summer. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: There hasn't been much news regarding Betts making visits. And coming off reconstructive surgery is going to make it more difficult to find work. We don't see Betts getting an invite anytime soon.

3/4/2010 6:07:00 PM
Description: Rick Maese of the Washington Post reports, via Twitter, that the Redskins will release Betts (torn ACL and MCL) once they can reach an injury settlement.
Insight: Betts was unlikely to make an impact in Mike Shanahan's new regime anyway. It is unknown when he will be ready to return to action, so he may have a hard time finding a team willing to take a chance on him. (SportsBuff.com)

Probable11/13/2009 10:45:00 AM
Description: According to the Washington Post, Redskins' head coach confirmed that Betts (ankle) is expected to start on Sunday against Denver despite the fact he has not practiced fully yet this week.
Insight: Betts could practice in full on Friday, but it looks like he will start regardless. He has been a popular waiver wire addition this week, but a tough matchup against the Broncos behind a reshuffled offensive line does not make him a high-end fantasy option. (SportsBuff.com)

Probable11/12/2009 4:52:00 PM
Description: According to Rick Maese of the Washington Post, via Twitter, Betts (ankle) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Insight: With Clinton Portis (concussion) now officially out for Sunday's game against Denver, Betts will start but is not a high-end fantasy option running behind a banged up offensive line. (SportsBuff.com)

Probable11/11/2009 8:06:00 PM
Description: According to the Washington Examiner, Betts (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday.
Insight: Redskins' head coach Jim Zorn said he expects Betts to return to practice on Thursday. Betts is in line to start Sunday's game against Denver with Clinton Portis (concussion) unlikely to play. He is worth picking up if you need running back help. (SportsBuff.com)

Probable11/10/2009 11:27:00 AM
Description: According to the Associated Press, Betts (ankle) has a sprained ankle but is still expected to start if Clinton Portis (concussion) is out this Sunday against Denver.
Insight: Betts is sure to be a hot waiver wire pickup this week with Portis looking "iffy" for Sunday's game. (SportsBuff.com)

11/9/2009 10:57:00 AM
Description: Betts had 15 carries for 70 yards and a touchdown along with one reception for 23 yards in the Redskins' loss to the Falcons on Sunday.
Insight: Clinton Portis left the game very early with a concussion, and Betts was fairly productive in his stead. He would start next week against Denver if Portis can't go. (SportsBuff.com0

9/10/2009 11:31:00 AM
Description: Betts (back) practiced fully on Wednesday and is not on the Redskins' injury report.
Insight: Betts will be used as the Redskins' third down back, with the possibility he could see increased work if Clinton Portis misses time this season. (SportsBuff.com)

9/3/2009 2:15:00 PM
Description: Betts returned to practice earlier this week after sitting a few days with a back injury.
Insight: Washington will want to keep a rapidly aging Clinton Portis fresher this season, so expect Betts to receive more touches than he has been getting. His status would skyrocket with a long-term Portis injury. (SportsBuff.com)

8/24/2009 11:23:00 AM
Description: Betts' injured back is not considered serious and he should be ok for the start of the regular season. (Washington Post)
Insight: Redskins' head coach Jim Zorn has already said that Betts will have an increased role this season, and he is a necessary handcuff if you draft Clinton Portis. (SportsBuff.com)

8/21/2009 4:14:00 PM
Description: Betts will reportedly be the primary RB for the Redskins on third down and during the two-minute drill. (Washington Post)
Insight: Betts' increased role is an attempt to keep Clinton Portis fresh, but also reduces Portis' fantasy value. If you draft Portis, Betts is practically a necessary handcuff. (SportsBuff.com)
