Description: Eagles FB Leonard Weaver (ACL, PCL surgery) said he intends to continue his football career. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Even though he suffered a major knee injury in Week One, he still has a ways to go in his rehab. The Eagles still have him locked up for 2011, but we won't know his status until we get closer to the summer. Backup Owen Schmitt was serviceable, but he isn't as all-around talented as Weaver as a runner and receiver.

Description: Scout.com's Adam Caplan reports, via Twitter, that Weaver (left knee) suffered damage to "at least three ligaments" in his injured knee as well as nerve damage.
Insight: This injury sounds like it could be career-threatening for Weaver. From a fantasy perspective, LeSean McCoy and Mike Bell look likely to pick up some more short yardage duty. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Eagles FB Leonard Weaver's 2010 season is over after tearing ligaments in his knee. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Judging from the gruesome way Weaver's leg bent, we are only speculating that he tore more than the initial ACL reported last night. Weaver wasn't going to have a big offensive role, but his loss could hurt the run blocking going forward. The team is expected to work out free agent Jason Davis Monday.
3/5/2010 10:51:00 AM
Description: According to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network, Weaver and the Eagles have agreed to a three-year deal worth over $10 million.
Insight: Half of the contract is reportedly guaranteed. He was elected to he Pro Bowl in 2009 and will be in the backfield mix for the Eagles next season. (SportsBuff.com)
3/1/2010 11:30:00 AM
Description: Philly.com reports Weaver, who is scheduled to become a restricted free agent, thought a deal with the Eagles was close.
Insight: Weaver will almost certainly be back in Philadelphia next season, as his versatility makes him valuable to the team's offense. (SportsBuff.com)
2/18/2010 3:48:00 PM
Description: Brian Seltzer of 950 ESPN Radio reports, via Twitter, Weaver and the Eagles have had contract discussions on a "regular basis."
Insight: Weaver is scheduled to become a free agent, but the Eagles seem interested in bringing him back after a fairly strong 2009 season. (SportsBuff.com)
12/21/2009 12:01:00 PM
Description: Weaver had 17 carries for 52 yards and two catches for 18 yards in the Eagles' win over the 49ers on Sunday.
Insight: Weaver has become a big part of the Eagles' offense in recent weeks, but he is still not a strong fantasy option. (SportsBuff.com)
12/14/2009 12:04:00 PM
Description: Weaver had nine carries for 33 yards and a touchdown and one catch for eight yards in the Eagles' win over the Giants on Sunday night.
Insight: Weaver is seeing more action than usual with Brian Westbrook (concussions) out, but he is not a strong fantasy option. (SportsBuff.com)
12/7/2009 12:47:00 PM
Description: Weaver had 100 total yards (63 receiving, 37 rushing) with a receiving touchdown in the Eagles' 34-7 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
Insight: Weaver occassionally scores touchdowns and is fairly productive when given the opportunity, but he is not consistent enough to be a good fantasy option. (SportsBuff.com)
11/2/2009 11:10:00 AM
Description: Weaver had eight carries for 75 yards and a touchdown in Philadelphia's win over the New York Giants on Sunday.
Insight: Weaver saw more carries than he normally would with Brian Westbrook (concussion) out. He is not a fantasy option, since this performance was likely a one-week mirage. (SportsBuff.com)
3/20/2009 7:32:00 PM
Description: The Eagles have signed Weaver to a contract, according to ESPN.com.
Insight: Weaver could provide a solid third down presence for the Eagles who lost Correll Buckhalter to the Broncos via free agency. (SportsBuff.com)
3/13/2009 12:38:00 PM
Description: The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Eagles are in the early stages of negotiating with Weaver.
Insight: Weaver isn't a fantasy factor himself, but his presence in Philly would only help someone who most certainly is. Brian Westbrook has been without a proper fullback since at least 2005, when the team last employed Josh Parry. Even Parry's worth was arguable. (SportsBuff.com)
Questionable11/9/2008 8:31:00 PM
Description: Weaver left Sunday's contest in the second quarter with injured ribs.
Insight: Weaver was already dealing with an injured foot. His loss will hurt the Seahawk running game eventually. He was coming off a career game with 116 yards receiving and two TD's against the 49ers. For those of you who picked him up, he did not accumulate any stats against Miami. (SportsBuff.com)
Steady10/26/2008 5:56:00 PM
Description: Weaver, the fullback for the Seahawks, had the game of a lifetime with two long TD scoring grabs.
Insight: Who in the name of Mac Strong is this guy? Well, he's a fourth year player from Carson-Newman who has one career TD prior to Sunday. Ten years ago I chided the guy who picked up Strong after a two-TD game and I will do the same to you if you pick up Weaver. (SportsBuff.com)
