Description: New York wideout Hakeem Nicks, who had a knee scope earlier this offseason, told Ralph Vacchiano he's "feeling as good as I've felt in awhile."
Insight: That's great news for Nicks' fantasy owners and Eli Manning owners too. A healthy Nicks is a top-10 fantasy receiver. Now if the Giants can just get the Victor Cruz situation under control they can have one of the league's best passing offenses.

Description: According to the Newark Star-Ledger, New York wideout Hakeem Nicks had a knee scope earlier this offseason.
Insight: The bum knee could be an explanation for why Nicks struggled so mightily during the 2012 season (career lows in touchdowns and receiving yards). Nicks will need a strong 2013 campaign to restore his place among fantasy's elite wide receivers.

2/4/2013 7:44:00 PM
Description: According to ESPN, the Giants' top priority this offseason will be to sign wideout Hakeem Nicks to a long-term contract.
Insight: New York is putting Hicks' new contract at the top of its to-do list, which is surprising considering that Victor Cruz (who had a much better year than Nicks) is set to become a restricted free agent this offseason. Nicks, who was held without a catch in his last two games, finished the 2012 campaign with a career-low 692 yards and three touchdowns.

Description: New York receiver Hakeem Nicks was active Sunday but he might as well have stayed home. For the second straight game, Nicks failed to catch a pass.
Insight: It was a fitting end to a miserable season for Nicks, who broke his foot in May and then hurt his knee in Week 2. He missed three games and wasn't healthy the rest of the season en route to 692 yards and three touchdowns on 53 receptions.

12/30/2012 12:09:00 PM
Description: New York receiver Hakeem Nicks is active for Sunday's tilt against Philadelphia. Nicks has been dealing with knee injuries on and off all season.
Insight: With the G-Men desperately needing a win, they'll look to Nicks to provide a lift on offense. Nicks is averaging 64.2 ypg against the Eagles for his career.

12/26/2012 4:00:00 PM
Description: Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks (knee) missed Wednesday's practice, but he's been missing them regularly and still playing on the weekend.
Insight: This time it might be different. The Giants need a lot to go their way to make it into the playoff and Nicks may just say he's had enough of this injury-plagued season.

Description: Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks (knee) missed Wednesday's practice, but he's been missing them regularly and still playing on the weekend.
Insight: Nicks caught just three passes for 40 yards last Sunday against the Falcons in what turned out to be an ugly 34-0 loss. He's certainly not operating at 100 percent but should be able to play against Baltimore this week.

Insight: Nicks caught four passes for 67 yards and a score Sunday against the Saints. He's certainly not at 100 percent but should be able to play against Atlanta this week.

12/12/2012 12:45:00 PM
Description: Giants' receiver Hakeem Nicks is not going to practice much this week as the team takes every precaution to prevent his knee from getting any worse.
Insight: Nicks (knee) caught four passes for 67 yards and a score Sunday against the Saints. He's certainly not at 100 percent, but just having him on the field makes Eli Manning, Victor Cruz and Martellus Bennett better players.

Insight: Garafolo noted that it doesn't mean much yet, as the Giants might just be checking how Nicks' knee held up after playing a full game Sunday. We should have more information Monday.

12/9/2012 3:05:00 PM
Description: Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks (knee) is officially active for Week 14 versus New Orleans.
Insight: As is the case with any injured receiver, Nicks is a risky play Sunday. However, he has even more upside than usual against the Saints pass defense, so he should be started.

Insight: Nicks has been dealing with a sore knee since Week 2 but it had been improving until Thursday, when the problem popped up again. Fortunately, Nicks is questionable but doesn't appear to be a true game-time decision, meaning owners can confidently start him even though he's playing in the later slate of games Sunday (4:25 p.m. ET).

Description: New York Giants wideout Hakeem Nicks (knee) practiced Friday after missing Thursday due to knee soreness.
Insight: Nicks has been dealing with a sore knee since Week 2 but it had been improving until Thursday, when the problem popped up again. Be prepared with another option in case Nicks can't go Sunday, but right now The Bergen Record suggests the Giants now have "guarded optimism."

Insight: Nicks has been dealing with a sore knee since Week 2 but it had been improving until Thursday, when the problem popped up again. "Hopefully it will subside, and he'll be ready to go," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. Be prepared with another option in case Nicks can't go Sunday.

11/12/2012 10:37:00 AM
Description: New York Giants wideout Hakeem Nicks (knee) had nine receptions Sunday after catching just 13 passes in the previous four games combined.
Insight: Nicks is still struggling with a knee injury that has made it difficult for him to gain separation. However, he looked good Sunday and will have a bye in Week 11 to rest his body. The Giants play some beatable secondaries -- Green Bay, Washington, New Orleans -- after the off week.

Description: New York Giants wideout Hakeem Nicks (knee) got in a limited practice session with his left knee heavily wrapped Thursday. SOURCE: Jenny Vrentas, Newark Star-Ledger
Insight: Nicks will probably play Sunday against the Bengals but he's going to be difficult to start in fantasy until his knee improves. The Giants wideout has just 153 yards over his last four games since returning from a three-game absence.

11/7/2012 11:41:00 AM
Description: New York Giants wideout Hakeem Nicks (knee) will not practice on Wednesday, according to beat writer Ralph Vacchiano and there are indications that his knee has swelled up since Sunday's game against Pittsburgh.
Insight: Injuries have killed Nicks' fantasy season save for Week 2 against Tampa Bay (10-199-1). Over the past four games he's hauled in just 13 passes for 153 yards and zero touchdowns. If the reports are true that his knee has acted up, fantasy owners will have to sit him on the bench.

11/2/2012 5:18:00 PM
Description: New York Giants wideout Hakeem Nicks (foot, knee) says he's "pushing 90, 95 percent" of his top form heading into Sunday's game against the Steelers, according to USA Today.
Insight: Nicks estimated he was 60-65 percent when he played against the 49ers last month after missing three straight games. He's been relying mainly on his ball skills to make plays with his ability to gain separation hampered by the injuries. If you've been sitting Nicks, Sunday would be the game to get him back in the lineup.

10/24/2012 12:28:00 PM
Description: New York Giants wideout Hakeem Nicks (knee) is practicing Wednesday. After a full week of practice last week, barring a new injury, we are no longer concerned with his missing games.
Insight: Nicks isn't quite back to 100 percent and it shows in his fantasy totals, but he's headed in the right direction and should be there soon.

10/22/2012 1:12:00 PM
Description: New York Giants wideout Hakeem Nicks (knee) said he felt much better than a week ago. Nicks caught five balls for 53 yards. "I'm still limited in certain things, but I think that's going to come with confidence," he told the Jenny Vrentas of the Star-Ledger.
Insight: Nicks isn't back to 100 percent and it shows in his fantasy totals, but at least he's headed in the right direction. Victor Cruz has picked up the slack in his absence, catching touchdown passes in four consecutive games.
