The 2007 Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year, Ellis was a two-time All-America First Team selection as well...A unanimous pick for the 2007 All-Pac-10 First Team as a senior, Ellis was a semifinalist for both the Bednarik Award and Lott Trophy during his senior campaign in which he posted 12.5 of his 58 tackles behind the line of scrimmage...The nose tackle logged eight and a half sacks in 2007 as well, not to mention seven pass deflections and a pair of fumble recoveries...An All-Pac-10 First Team choice as a junior as well, Ellis started 10 games in 2006, but also missed three contests due to arthroscopic surgery stemming from torn cartilage in his right knee...Came on strong in 2005, after backing up Mike Patterson in 2004, by earning the starting nose tackle position and generating eight TFLs on 50 total stops...Quick off the ball, Ellis uses his hands well and changes direction aswell as anyone at his position.
