Description: Saints running back Mark Ingram is hoping to be more involved in the passing game this season, according to ESPN.com. "I hope so. I want to do everything. I want to be involved in the pass game, run game, picking up pass (protection). I want to be the most versatile player I can be," Ingram said. "The majority of the time, if you just watch the film, most of the teams think when I'm in the game it's either gonna be a run or play-action or something like that. ... I know I'm an all-purpose back, a complete back. I can do everything."
Insight: Darren Sproles, who caught 71 passes on 89 targets last season, was traded to the Eagles this offseason. Ingram has caught 24 passes in 37 career NFL games, but he had a receiving touchdown in Friday's preseason game and caught two passes during a two-minute drill simulation Monday. The Saints are expected to mix Ingram, Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson this season, so all three will have limited fantasy value.

11/11/2013 5:21:00 PM
Description: Saints running back Mark Ingram's 145 rushing yards in Week 10 against Dallas were not only a career high but also the first 100-yard performance in Ingram's 30 career NFL games.
Insight: Ingram has played just four games this season due to a toe injury and hadn't rushed for more than 20 yards in the first three before busting out Sunday night. The Saints rushed for 242 yards and three touchdowns on 38 carries, so Ingram's performance is likely more an indictment of Dallas' defense than a sign he's going to become an impact player. He's not worth a waiver priority but if he clears waivers in your league feel free to make the speculative add.

Description: Saints running back Mark Ingram will miss another game Sunday versus the Patriots.
Insight: He's been struggling with a toe injury for most of the season. If you haven't already, we'd recommend dropping Ingram as soon as possible. Even when healthy, he isn't much of a fantasy asset.

9/30/2013 7:29:00 PM
Description: New Orleans halfback Mark Ingram won't suit up Monday against the Dolphins.
Insight: He's out with a toe injury. Ingram didn't play in last week's game either. Darren Sproles (228 all-purpose yards this season) is the only Saints running back worth starting in fantasy.

9/23/2013 2:58:00 PM
Description: Saints running back Mark Ingram is doubtful for next Monday night's game against Miami.
Insight: The former Heisman Trophy winner hasn't really had a chance to utilize his skill set in Sean Payton's pass dominant scheme. Meanwhile, trade rumors are out there and its possible a deal might happen before he gets back on the field in a Saints uniform.

Description: Mark Ingram may ask for a trade if his role in the Saints' offense doesn't increase. SOURCE: Jason La Canfora, CBS Sports
Insight: The former Heisman Trophy winner hasn't really had a chance to utilize his impressive skill set in Sean Payton's pass dominant scheme. In terms of a trade affecting his fantasy value, it wouldn't matter anyway right now because Ingram is dealing with a painful toe injury.

9/22/2013 11:48:00 AM
Description: New Orleans halfback Mark Ingram (toe) won't be available Sunday versus the Cardinals.
Insight: Even when he's played, Ingram hasn't been much of a factor this season (just 1.8 yards per carry). Pierre Thomas will get more carries with Ingram sidelined though probably still not enough to warrant a start in fantasy.

9/20/2013 4:31:00 PM
Description: Saints running back Mark Ingram (toe) missed another practice and is not expected to play on Sunday.
Insight: Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas should have added value for Week 3.

9/19/2013 4:31:00 PM
Description: Saints running back Mark Ingram (toe) was limited in practice Thursday.
Insight: Ingram has done virtually nothing through two games, rushing for 31 yards on 17 carries. ESPN Saints reporter Jeff Triplett predicted Thursday that Pierre Thomas would slowly eclipse Ingram as New Orleans "1A" running option even if Ingram stays healthy. If Ingram misses Sunday's game against Arizona, Thomas could be a decent flex option for injury-ravaged fantasy owners.

9/8/2013 6:09:00 PM
Description: The Saints gave nine carries to Pierre Thomas, eight to Darren Sproles and nine to Mark Ingram Sunday against the Falcons.
Insight: Ingram did the least with his, rushing for 11 yards. Not only is the former Heisman Trophy winner stuck in a timeshare, but he has failed to be productive in his limited playing time during his career. And while Sproles caught six passes and Thomas four, Ingram had zero.

8/10/2013 3:48:00 PM
Description: According to Mike Triplett of the Times-Picayune (NOLA.com), Saints running back Mark Ingram "has looked strong, fast, fluid and a little slimmer during training camp -- a result of being fully healthy for the first time throughout an entire offseason since he joined the NFL."
Insight: The Saints have talked about using Ingram in a more versatile way after using him mainly as a short-yardage and base offense running back the last two years. Getting on the field more for passing downs for a team that passes so often can only help Ingram's fantasy stock, but with Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas still on the roster Ingram is a flex option at best.

7/26/2013 3:48:00 PM
Description: According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, Saints coach Sean Payton said Thursday that he has "high expectations" for third-year running back Mark Ingram.
Insight: Even if it is true that Ingram is in the best shape of his NFL career, as Payton said Thursday, it's difficult to get excited about his fantasy prospects this year. The Saints ran the ball just 370 times last season, and Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas, who are both better receivers than Ingram, remain on the roster. Ingram is a flex option at best.

5/11/2013 2:05:00 PM
Description: According to Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Saints running back Mark Ingram is 100-percent healthy for the first time in three seasons.
Insight: We expect a healthy Ingram could become a much more valuable fantasy asset, though as long as Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas are still on the field, he can't be an RB1.

7/27/2012 11:29:00 AM
Description: Saints running back Mark Ingram, who had his third offseason surgery in the last three seasons, was running at full speed in the Saints first practice on Thursday.
Insight: We expect a healthy Ingram to improve on last season's totals (122-474-5), though Darren Sproles (603 yards rushing, 710 yards receiving, 9 TDs) does limit his upside.

5/15/2012 4:12:00 PM
Description: Saints running back Mark Ingram had more off-season surgery, his third in the last three seasons and is unlikley to be ready to go at the start of training camp according to interim head coach Joe Vitt.
Insight: Ingram started four games and played in 10 last season due to toe, heel and knee injuries. With Darren Sproles sparkling performance in 2011 (603 yards rushing, 710 yards receiving, 9 TDs), Ingram has a limited upside.
