Description: Quarterback Donovan McNabb will retire as an Eagle on Monday. SOURCE: NBC Sports
Insight: McNabb appeared in six Pro Bowls during his tenure with the Eagles including five in a row between 2000 and 2004. He led Philadelphia to one Super Bowl, which the Eagles lost to New England in 2004. He threw for 234 touchdowns and rushed for 29 more during his 13 seasons in the league. The Hall of Fame isn't a sure thing for McNabb but he'll certainly be given consideration.

Description: Donovan McNabb has said that there is an 80 to 90 percent chance he will be back playing quarterback in the NFL next fall.
Insight: McNabb is a free agent right now and he didn't have a very impressive season with the Vikings in 2011 (four TDs, two interceptions, 82.9 QB rating in six games). It will be interesting to see what the market will be like for the 35-year-old as training camp approaches.

Description: Coach Leslie Frazier reiterated Monday that Donovan McNabb will remain the Vikings' starting quarterback going forward. Source: Tom Pelissero via Twitter
Insight: McNabb was 10/21 for 169 yards against a bad Arizona defense at home, but in his defense, Adrian Peterson did all the heavy lifting. The leash is getting shorter for McNabb, but Leslie Frazier isn't ready to make the move yet.

Description: According to the NFL Network, the Minnesota Vikings are working on the details of contract for veteran QB Donovan McNabb. SOURCE: NFL NETWORK
Insight: The details haven't been disclosed yet (they aren't even finalized yet), but it's not going to be more than a two-year deal... just to get the Vikings over the hump until they can get Christian Ponder ready. This obviously opens the door for the Redskins to either make a move or rely on John Beck to lead their team.

Description: SI.com writer Peter King gave his insight as to where Washington Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb might be headed when the lockout ends... Miami. SOURCE: SI.COM
Insight: It's not surprising that McNabb's stock is as low as King is implying since he is in his mid 30'?s and had a terrible season in 2010. Executives around the league have to be questioning whether or not McNabb can be successful outside of head coach Andy Reid's system in Philly.
7/9/2011 4:58:00 AM
Description: Redskins HC Mike Shanahan remained noncommittal Friday when asked at a football camp whether QB Donovan McNabb will be back with the Redskins. SOURCE: CSN SPORTS WASHINGTON
Insight: "I love Donovan McNabb," Shanahan said. "But until I get a chance to talk to Donovan and I go through the scenario with him, I really can't share it with the public." Shanahan is known for posturing, and we still see zero chance McNabb returns to the Redskins after his relationship with Mike's son, Kyle, became irreparable last season. The elder Shanahan hinted that the Redskins are looking to get younger on the personnel side: "You're evaluating obviously on their talent, character and age."
6/27/2011 11:55:00 AM
Description: Former Eagles and current Redskins QB Donovan McNabb reunited with some past teammates for an involuntary workout this past week.
Insight: McNabb was in the local area for charity work, and decided to workout with some of his former teammates. The ironic part about all this is the fact he has yet to participate in one voluntary workout with his current team. I guess this is his way of telling people how he feels he's being treated by the Redskins.
6/22/2011 3:31:00 PM
Description: The most recent rumor around Redskins camp is that no team appears to be interested in trading for QB Donovan McNabb because of his pricey contract. SOURCE: NFL.COM
Insight: McNabb's contract guarantees a $10 million payment just before the start of the regular season, which is definitely scaring teams away. Knowing this, it's more than likely the Skins will release McNabb as soon as the lockout ends.
6/21/2011 11:39:00 AM
Description: Washington Redskins QB Donovan McNabb said he expects to have a special 2011 campaign, regardless of who he's playing for. SOURCE: NATIONAL FOOTBALL POST
Insight: McNabb would like to play for Washington, but doesn't realistically expect to be brought back once the lockout is over. "For those who wanna sit back and dwell on what happened last year, so be it," McNabb said. "But 2011's gonna be a special season. A season in which I feel that I've prepared myself well - not just conditioning and strengthwise, but most importantly getting back to the fundamentals. And I look to display that in the 2011 season."

Description: Boxer Bernard Hopkins said this week that he believes Donovan McNabb is not authentically black, the latest in a long line of personal attacks from Hopkins toward McNabb. Now McNabb's agent has responded. SOURCE: PRO FOOTBALL TALK
Insight: 'Ill-informed statements such as the perplexing one Mr. Hopkins muttered recently are dangerous and irresponsible,' agent Fletcher Smith said in a statement. 'It perpetuates a maliciously inaccurate stereotype that insinuates those African-Americans who have access to a wider variety of resources are somehow culturally different than their brethren.' Ultimately, this whole thing is stupid and Hopkins needs to forget about which person is "more black" and focus more on his boxing career.
4/17/2011 8:57:00 AM
Description: There is belief that Redskins QB Donovan McNabb would like to play for the Vikings this season. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: McNabb-to-Minnesota has been a rumor that had been circulating all the way back to McNabb's dwindling days in Philly. The Vikings are rumored to want to go away from a West Coast offense and pass more downfield, which would cater a bit more to McNabb's strength as a down-field passer.
4/4/2011 3:14:00 PM
Description: Redskins QB Donovan McNabb landing in Minnesota makes the most sense, according to SI.com's Peter King. SOURCE: SI.COM
Insight: King thinks the Redskins could get a fourth rounder that could flip to a third rounder, depending on McNabb's stats. If a trade does happen, McNabb isn't exactly going into a quarterback-friendly offense, especially if Sidney Rice doesn't come back.
3/26/2011 5:16:00 PM
Description: The Redskins are still expected to eventually cut QB Donovan McNabb instead of landing a trade. SOURCE: FOX SPORTS
Insight: Even though McNabb's play has clearly declined after his 2010 season, there will be a pretty big line for his serves once he hits free agency. He likely won't be cut until sometime after the draft.
2/13/2011 1:56:00 PM
Description: The Vikings may look at Redskins QB Donovan McNabb as the answer at quarterback this offseason. SOURCE: NFL.COM
Insight: McNabb was linked to Minnesota months ago, but that was when Brad Childress was the head coach because he ran the same type of offense when both were in Philadelphia. Vince Young also remains heavily in the conversation.
1/13/2011 7:03:00 PM
Description: Redskins GM Bruce Allen says he won't release QB Donovan McNabb anytime soon. SOURCE: WASHINGTON POST
Insight: We'd be surprised to see a team offer a pick for McNabb since it's looking more and more likely that he will eventually be released. Especially after Mike Shanahan shot himself in the foot by saying that McNabb will be nothing more than the backup next year, which caused McNabb's agent to lash out at the team. He is nothing more than a QB2 in 2011.
12/28/2010 2:20:00 PM
Description: Redskins QB Donovan McNabb said he won't ask the team to release him after the season. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: The Redskins will look to trade McNabb, but a $10 million option bonus is going to be hard to make a move, unless the Redskins pay the option in order to make a trade more enticing. If they can't find anyone, he'll be released. Mike Shanahan has already told McNabb he'll be retained, but only as a backup. After a disappointing 2010, it's going to be hard to see him ranked as anything more than a low-end QB2 next season.
12/21/2010 3:23:00 PM
Description: Washington Redskins QB Donovan McNabb insisted he wants to return to the team.
Insight: McNabb, appearing on his weekly radio show, said he doesnt want to go anywhere even though he was benched for a second time this season by coach Mike Shanahan. The question now is... even if he returns, does he beat out Rex Grossman for the starting job in 2011? Even if he does, is he draftable?
12/17/2010 3:03:00 PM
Description: Pro Football Talk.com reports McNabb will be the Redskins' No. 3 quarterback for the rest of the season.
Insight: Redskins' head coach Mike Shanahan said "I want to see John Beck" in the No.2 role, citing Beck's practice performance. Rex Grossman will start on Sunday against Dallas, and McNabb can be dropped in all fantasy leagues. (RapidDraft.com)
12/17/2010 3:01:00 PM
Description: Rich Campbell of the Fredricksburg Freelance Star reports Redskins' head coach Mike Shanahan said there is "no guarantee" McNabb will be with the team in 2011.
Insight: Shanahan reportedly said he informed McNabb as much, so he looks likely to be available as a free agent to interested suitors. (RapidDraft.com)
12/17/2010 11:27:00 AM
Description: The Redskins will reportedly go with QB Rex Grossman over QB Donovan McNabb against the Cowboys Sunday. SOURCE: CSN WASHINGTON
Insight: Players are said to be "extremely upset" by the decision. The relationship between the Shanahans and McNabb has been strained for a few weeks, so it doesn't surprise us that Kyle Shanahan lied about his status. It will be interesting to hear the thousand reasons why McNabb was benched. It's unreasonable to think Grossman is an upgrade. Santana Moss owners should rethink their options at receiver.
