Notes:
Named the Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Year in 2006 as well as an All-Conference USA First Team member as a wide receiver for UTEP...Higgins earned All-America Third Team honors from the AP after ranking second in the nation in receiving yards per game with 109.9 as a senior...Was third in the country in all-purpose yards with 156.1 per outing and finished his career as the school's all-time leader in receiving yards (3,218) and receiving touchdowns (32)...As a senior, Higgins reeled in 82 balls which were more than twice the total of his closest teammate, for 1,319 yards and 13 scores, addinga pair of TDs on 12 punt returns, during which he averaged more than 23 yards per try...Named Second Team All-league in 2005 as both a wideout and a punt return specialist as his 1,468 all-purpose yards ranked in a tie for seventh on the school's single-season list at the time...Made a huge impact as a sophomore when he caught 34 balls for 700 yards and 10 touchdowns, proving he could spread the field as well as anyone in the Western Athletic Conference at the time...Higgins has unmistakable speed and possesses strong moves to elude would-be tacklers, but his lack of ideal size has to be an issue for teams considering him for a wideout spot and not a special teamer.
