Description: The Titans dumped quarterback Matt Hasselbeck on Monday.
Insight: It looks like the veteran won't be out of work for long. NFL Network's Ian Rapaport is reporting that Hasselbeck is close to inking a two-year agreement with Indianapolis. If Hasselbeck joins the Colts he'll be Andrew Luck's backup and won't have any real fantasy value.

10/15/2012 5:43:00 PM
Description: According to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, Titans coach Mike Munchak said quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will start again in Week 7.
Insight: Tennessee can afford to stick with Hasselbeck after he beat Pittsburgh on Thursday night. Jake Locker (shoulder) could be ready to return in Week 8 against the Colts.

Description: Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was pressed into action early in Sunday's game after Jake Locker exited with a shoulder injury. Hasselbeck finished with 193 yards and two scores but he threw two picks for touchdowns.
Insight: Hasselbeck had a nice day considering the situation Sunday against one of the league's best defenses in Houston, but he's not going to be someone you can rely on in fantasy if Locker misses time.

8/2/2012 9:34:00 PM
Description: According to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck went 9-for-9 in team drills while Jake Locker went 1-for-10 with an INT Thursday night.
Insight: NFL Network's Mike Lombardi said Tuesday that Locker was the favorite to open the season as the starting QB, but Hasselbeck is making the decision very tough with Locker not playing well at practice Thursday night. Whoever wins the job will be a QB2 at best, but either player will have value working with a talented receiving corps.

6/11/2012 2:28:00 PM
Description: Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck seems to have the edge in the competition for starting quarterback in Tennessee. According to head coach Mike Munchak, its partially because the team has a tough early schedule and prefers his experience of that of Jake Locker.
Insight: Hasselbeck hasn't been a fantasy-worthy starting quarterback since 2007 in Seattle, but the Titans 2012 offense could be pretty good if Kenny Britt returns to good health and Chris Johnson is on top of his game. The Titans selected a talented young receiver, Kendall Wright from Baylor, in the first round and with Britt, Nate Washington and tight end Jared Cook make up a talented receiving corps.

Description: Numerous outside sources are predicting that Matt Hasselbeck will be the Tennessee Titans starting quarterback in 2012 and barring injury we won't see much of youngster Jake Locker.

Description: The Tennessee Titans swooped in Wednesday on QB Matt Hasselbeck, reaching agreement with the free-agent quarterback on a multiyear contract, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. SOURCE: ESPN.COM
Insight: The Titans are expected to groom Jake Locker, the eighth overall pick in April's draft, to be their starter of the future. Hasselbeck threw for 272 yards and a career playoff-high four touchdowns in engineering the Seahawks' upset victory over the defending Super Bowl champion Saints in last season's playoffs.

Description: Free-agent QB Matt Hasselbeck does not plan to re-sign with the Seattle Seahawks, a source confirmed to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. SOURCE: ESPN.COM
Insight: Hasselbeck will turn 36 in September. His prior contract was signed before the start of the 2005 season and followed by Hasselbeck leading the Seahawks to their only Super Bowl appearance. According to multiple media reports, the Seahawks have agreed to a deal with former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson.

Description: The Tennessee Titans are in the market for a veteran QB and the name Matt Hasselbeck keeps coming up. SOURCE: SPORTING NEWS
Insight: The Titans drafted Jake Locker to be the future of this franchise, but they aren't quite ready to throw him to the wolves. A veteran QB makes sense, and since the Seahawks are expected to trade for Kevin Kolb, Hasselbeck will be expendable. Give Hass one year to work with Locker and it could be a win-win for both teams.

Description: A mix of Seattle Seahawks under contract, free agents who were with the team last year and even a few players from other teams have gathered for one of the largest offseason workouts in the Seattle area. SOURCE: BUFFALO NEWS
Insight: About 30 to 35 players gathered at the University of Washington's indoor practice facility on Thursday morning. Included in that group were quarterbacks Matt Hasselbeck and Charlie Whitehurst, running back Justin Forsett, linebackers Aaron Curry and David Hawthorne and defensive backs Lawyer Milloy, Marcus Trufant and Jordan Babineaux.

Description: ESPN's John Clayton believes there is a "better than 50-50" chance that free agent QB Matt Hasselbeck re-signs with Seattle. SOURCE: 710 ESPN SEATTLE
Insight: OC Darrell Bevell had talked to Hasselbeck and stressed that the team does want him back. And since Tennessee and Minnesota drafted quarterbacks high, the market has shrunk for the need of a 35 year old veteran. He could end up being one of several fallback options if the team can't land Kevin Kolb. Regardless of where Hasselbeck ends up, his best fantasy days are behind him.

Description: The Redskins might have interest in free agent QB Matt Hasselbeck if he doesn't re-sign with the Seahawks. SOURCE: FOX SPORTS
Insight: Mike Shanahan stated that he is high on John Beck and no one should be surprised to see him start Week One, but bringing in Hasselbeck's veteran leadership and knowledge would give the team a better chance to make some sort of dent in the NFC East. After passing on a quarterback high in the draft, the team could use a stopgap to look at the position in 2012.

Description: Free agent QB Matt Hasselbeck still hopes he'll re-sign with the Seahawks. SOURCE: BOSTON GLOBE
Insight: "I'm definitely hopeful that I'll be able to stay in Seattle." We should have a better idea on what the team wants to do at quarterback once we see what they do in the draft. They have been heavily linked to Eagles QB Kevin Kolb, but we don't know if they consider him worth the No. 25 overall pick.

Description: Free agent QB Matt Hasselbeck wasn't close to re-signing with the Seahawks before the March Fourth transaction freeze. SOURCE: FOX SPORTS
Insight: Teams who wanted players back made deals happen before the CBA deadline, so this could mean that Seattle doesn't want Hasselbeck as much as they originally did. He could still be back, but the chances aren't as high as they were.

3/3/2011 2:34:00 PM
Description: According to his brother, ESPN analyst Tim Hasselbeck, free agent QB Matt Hasselbeck will not sign with the Seahawks before the onset of free agency. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: There really is no rush because Hasselbeck likely won't be pursued for a starting job. The Seahawks give him the best chance for that. Many players plan on delaying long-term signings.

3/2/2011 10:44:00 AM
Description: The Seahawks and QB Matt Hasselbeck are said to be "miles apart" on a new contract extension. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Hasselbeck is clearly the best option the team has at quarterback right now, but he can't be relied on as anything more than a transition player until the team finds their future, whether it be through the draft or free agency. A deal is not expected to be done before Thursday's deadline.

2/25/2011 2:12:00 PM
Description: The Seahawks and free agent QB Matt Hasselbeck are already "having great dialogue" regarding a new contract. SOURCE: SEATTLE TIMES
Insight: GM John Schneider called Hasselbeck "Mr. Seattle." Pete Carroll quickly made it known that he wants Hass back and Hasselbeck wants to be back, so there shouldn't be a problem getting a low-year deal done. Hasselbeck should start this year.

2/2/2011 2:38:00 PM
Description: After leading the Seattle Seahawks to the playoffs with a pitiful 7'"9 record, then upsetting a heavily favored, defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints team, Matt Hasselbeck is set to become a free agent at age 35. The Seahawks seem intent on keeping Hasselbeck, especially considering neither Charlie Whitehurst or JP Losman are ready to step in, but if he makes it to free agency, there could be interest. San Francisco could be interested in Hasselbeck if he does become available. SOURCE: BLEACHER REPORT

1/18/2011 12:29:00 PM
Description: With a potential lockout looming, QB Matt Hasselbeck wants to get a new contract extension worked out with the Seahawks before March. SOURCE: SEATTLE TIMES
Insight: March 4th is the deadline for a new Collective Bargaining Agreement to get done. If a new CBA isn't completed by then, we could see a lockout for the 2011 season. Hasselbeck's playoff numbers were solid, posting a 7:1 TD:INT ratio, but he came up short against the Bears. Pete Carroll has already expressed interest in bringing Hasselbeck back, so the two sides should come up with something. They really have no other alternatives right now.

Description: Hasselbeck (left hip) went 26-for-46 for 258 yards with three touchdowns against the Bears on Sunday.
Insight: Hasselbeck reportedly had fluid drained from his injured hip on Saturday night. He is slated to become a free agent this offseason. (RapidDraft.com)
