Description: Bills running back Fred Jackson left Sunday's game against the Vikings with a groin injury and early estimates are from 2-4 weeks.
Insight: The running back had to be carted off the field. With C.J. Spiller out for the season, the Bills will turn to Bryce Brown and Anthony Dixon.

Description: Bills running back Fred Jackson left Sunday's game against the Vikings with a groin injury.
Insight: Jackson is out for the game. The running back had to be carted off the field and his hands were covering his face. This gives C.J. Spiller an obvious fantasy boost.

10/12/2014 5:21:00 PM
Description: Bills running back Fred Jackson again received more carries then fellow running back C.J. Spiller in Week 6.
Insight: Jackson only gained 26 yards on 10 carries and caught four passes for 17 more yards, but he did score a rushing touchdown. Jackson is proving he is the better back to own in the Bills backfield.

10/5/2014 6:10:00 PM
Description: Bills running back Fred Jackson was a bell cow for Buffalo on Sunday against the Lions.
Insight: Jackson led the team with 10 carries and 49 yards. He also tied Sammy Watkins with seven receptions and 58 yards. In addition, Jackson scored a two-point conversion. He briefly left the game but returned shortly afterwards. Jackson is the best play in the Buffalo backfield.

10/5/2014 4:06:00 PM
Description: Bills running back Fred Jackson left Sunday's game against the Lions with a leg injury.
Insight: Jackson is questionable to return. Jackson had 18 touches for 108 yards before leaving.

9/21/2014 4:51:00 PM
Description: Buffalo running back Fred Jackson was the productive back this week with C.J. Spiller disappointing his fantasy owners.
Insight: The 33-year-old Jackson rushed six times for 34 yards, but was a big part of the passing game with eight receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown.

9/16/2014 3:22:00 PM
Description: Buffalo running back Fred Jackson is still getting a similar workload as C.J. Spiller though he's yet to taste the end zone.
Insight: The 33-year-old Jackson is a solid all-around runner and pass receiver and usually gets more touchdown opportunities than Spiller to keep him fantasy-worthy. Without the touchdown advantage his fantasy value as a starter is questionable.

8/17/2014 1:02:00 PM
Description: Buffalo running back Fred Jackson had another busy game, rushing six times for 27 yards and catching seven balls for 28 yards.
Insight: C.J. Spiller had six touches. The 33-year-old Jackson is a solid all-around runner and pass receiver and he gets the goal-line opportunites which limits Spillers' fantasy value and keeps Jackson as a viable fantasy option.

7/30/2014 6:05:00 PM
Description: Buffalo running back Fred Jackson has signed a one-year extension worth $2.6 million.
Insight: Jackson is now signed for the next two seasons. The extension is a sign that the team isn't ready to phase out the 33-year-old Jackson from the offense even though C.J. Spiller is healthy and the Bills acquired Bryce Brown. Jackson had 253 touches last season and scored 10 touchdowns. He'll probably see closer to 200 this season but still has RB2 upside because of his goal-line work.

12/22/2013 5:59:00 PM
Description: Buffalo running back Fred Jackson had 19 carries for 111 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over Miami. He confirmed after the game that he played through broken ribs, according to the Buffalo News.
Insight: C.J. Spiller carried the football 20 times, but once again Jackson outperformed him as Spiller had 77 yards. The 32-year-old Jackson has rushed for 836 yards and eight touchdowns on 193 carries and caught 44 passes for 334 receiving yards and one touchdown this season.

11/1/2013 1:50:00 PM
Description: Buffalo running back Fred Jackson is still dealing with a sore knee, but is probable for Sunday's game against Kansas City.
Insight: Jackson and C.J. Spiller will likely share the backfield workload against the Chiefs which isn't a great situation for fantasy owners.

10/24/2013 11:20:00 AM
Description: Buffalo running back Fred Jackson is dealing with a sore knee, but is probable for Sunday's game against New Orleans.
Insight: Jackson, who didn't practice Wednesday, told the Buffalo News, "I'm fine. I’ll be ready to go Sunday." Given all the injuries and byes, Jackson is worthy of a fantasy start.

10/1/2013 11:48:00 AM
Description: Buffalo running back Fred Jackson practiced in a limited capacity Monday after spraining his MCL Sunday against Baltimore, but is more likely to play than starter C.J. Spiller (ankle).
Insight: Jackson isn't concerned about the injury though he may wear a knee brace and fully expects to play Thursday night against the Browns.

9/30/2013 8:43:00 PM
Description: Buffalo halfback Fred Jackson practiced in a limited capacity Monday after spraining his MCL Sunday against Baltimore.
Insight: Jackson isn't concerned about the injury and fully expects to play Thursday night against the Browns. C.J. Spiller is also banged up so Johnson should see a heavy workload in Week 5.

9/29/2013 7:04:00 PM
Description: Bills running back Fred Jackson sprained his MCL Sunday against the Ravens, according to Mike Rodak of ESPN.com.
Insight: He expects to play Thursday. Jackson also suffered a sprained ligament in his knee last season but says this one isn't as significant. The veteran has outplayed C.J. Spiller in all four games this season and could be in for a full workload if Spiller missed Thursday's game with an ankle sprain.

9/15/2013 6:33:00 PM
Description: Bills running back Fred Jackson wasn't anything special Sunday versus Carolina.
Insight: The Panthers held Jackson to just 30 yards on 12 carries. Buffalo's running back workload has been a 60/40 split through the first two games.

9/8/2013 6:11:00 PM
Description: Buffalo halfback Fred Jackson totaled 108 yards from scrimmage Sunday in a loss to New England.
Insight: He led the Bills with 67 yards rushing on 13 carries. Jackson was expected to play a smaller role in Buffalo's offense after the emergence of C.J. Spiller at the end of last season but if he keeps this up, the Bills' rushing distribution could be closer to a 50/50 split. We'll have to see how he does next week at home against Carolina.

8/3/2013 10:46:00 AM
Description: Bills running back Fred Jackson has added weight which should help in his new role as backup to C.J. Spiller.
Insight: Jackson suffered two major injuries that forced him out of games last season and Spiller took advantage of the opportunity. Spiller will be the primary running back in Buffalo this season, but Jackson should get goal line carries as well as change of pace work. Jackson's fantasy value in 2013 will be as a handcuff.

1/3/2013 12:15:00 PM
Description: Bills running back Fred Jackson wants to come back to Buffalo even though he's aware that C.J. Spiller will likely be the starter and primary running back, according to a Tim Graham report at buffalonews.com.
Insight: Jackson suffered two major injuries that forced him out of games this season and he only saw 115 rushing attempts and 34 receptions. With Spiller producing big results (1,244 yards rushing, 459 yards receiving, 8 TDs), Jackson's future fantasy value in Buffalo is likely to be as a handcuff only.

12/10/2012 3:41:00 PM
Description: Bills running back Fred Jackson is done for the season with a Grade II sprain of his MCL, coach Chan Gailey confirmed Monday. SOURCE: Buffalo Bills' official Twitter account.
Insight: Jackson won't need surgery, but he's still not going to be able to heal fast enough to come back this season. The ligament is still intact but it is torn off the bone. Jackson also suffered a sprained LCL in Week 1 and a concussion in the middle of the season and has been noticeably less explosive than teammate C.J. Spiller this season.
