NFL Game Summary - Chicago at Minnesota

(Sunday, November 29th)

Final Score: Minnesota 36, Chicago 10

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Brett Favre had another terrific performance, throwing three touchdowns passes, as the Minnesota Vikings rolled over the Chicago Bears, 36-10, at the Metrodome.

Favre ended with a season-high 392 yards on 32-of-48 attempts for the Vikings, who are 10-1 for the first time since 1998. Despite some ball security issues, Adrian Peterson rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown on 25 carries. The dangerous running back fumbled twice, losing the ball once.

"When I tell people that I'm not surprised that we're 10-1, I'm really not," said Favre. "I think everyone expected us to be a good football team. You have to expect good things in order to be good."

Rookie Percy Harvin made six grabs for 101 yards and one score in Minnesota's fourth straight victory, while Sidney Rice caught six passes for 89 yards.

Jay Cutler completed 18-of-23 passes for 147 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions for the Bears (4-7), who have lost four games in a row.

"They're a good football team. They definitely dominated us today," admitted Bears coach Lovie Smith. "Today we had problems in all areas. We feel like crap. There's no way around it."

Minnesota opened the scoring when Favre hooked up with Harvin for a 15-yard touchdown on the first play of the second quarter.

Chicago answered quickly, driving to the Minnesota 24 before Cutler floated a pass into the hands of a streaking Johnny Knox in the right corner of the end zone. The drive consisted of six plays -- all passes -- during which Cutler threw one incompletion.

The Vikings, though, responded on their next possession as Chester Taylor capped an eight-play, 80-yard march with a 10-yard TD grab.

Knox then fumbled on the subsequent kickoff, and Minnesota transformed the turnover into a 52-yard Ryan Longwell field goal.

Following a second interception of Cutler, Visanthe Shiancoe reeled in a six- yard TD pass to give Minnesota a commanding 24-7 advantage with 17 seconds remaining in the first half.

Chicago's Robbie Gould and Longwell exchanged field goals in the third quarter.

Longwell then converted a 20-yarder less than two minutes into the final frame and Peterson capped the scoring with a five-yard TD run with 6:35 remaining. Minnesota botched the extra point.
