Former Eagles C Ken Farragut passes away

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Former Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl center Ken Farragut passed away Sunday in Pennsylvania from complications with diabetes. He was 85 years old.

Drafted by the Eagles in the sixth round in 1951 out of the University of Mississippi, Farragut played just four seasons with Philadelphia and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1953.

Farragut retired following the 1954 season to go into business as the founder of United States Roofing Corporation. He was selected into the University of Mississippi Hall of Fame in 1988, as well as the Pennsylvania Hall of Fame in 1992. Also, Farragut was the 1992 recipient of the NFL Alumni Achievement Award.

Farragut is survived by his wife, Jane, his daughter, Debbie, sons David and Danny along with eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
