Strasburg wins minor league finale

Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Stephen Strasburg picked up the victory in his final minor league contest before his anticipated step-up to the major league level next week.

Strasburg allowed no runs, three hits, walked a batter and fanned five over five innings in Syracuse's 7-1 win over Buffalo Wednesday.

The Washington Nationals minor leaguer went 4-1 with a 1.08 ERA while playing for the Chiefs at the Triple-A level. He was 7-2 overall in the minors.

The No. 1 overall draft pick from last year is slated to make his major league debut next Tuesday when the Nationals host the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 21- year-old Strasburg is already under a four-year, $15.1 million contract with the Nationals.
