NCAA Game Summary - South Florida vs. San Francisco

(Saturday, December 19th)

Final Score: South Florida 69, San Francisco 49

Las Vegas, NV (Sports Network) - Dominique Jones put up 23 points as the South Florida Bulls recorded a 69-49 win over the San Francisco Dons as part of the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic at South Point Arena.

Jones made good on five three-point attempts for the Bulls (9-2) as they won their second straight and the sixth in the last seven outings. Also scoring in double figures for South Florida were Chris Howard with 14 points and Jarrid Famous who recorded a double-double with 11 and 10 boards.

The Dons (3-8), losers of two in a row and eight of the last nine, were paced by Michael Williams who matched his career-high with 12 points, the lone San Francisco player to score in double figures.

The Dons had trouble shooting the ball from all over the floor, suffering a 39-25 deficit at the break.

San Francisco was ice cold to start the second half, making just one field goal in the first 10 minutes, en route to the 20-point setback.

The Bulls made it into the win column despite shooting only 37.5 percent from the floor, making up for some of that inaccuracy with 10 successful three- point tries. The Dons didn't do themselves any favors by shooting just 14- of-26 at the free-throw line or 3-of-11 out on the perimeter.

Both of these teams will be back in action again on Sunday for this tournament as the Dons clash with Southern Illinois and USF goes after San Diego.
