NCAA Game Summary - South Florida at Cincinnati

Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Deonta Vaughn scored a team-best 20 points as he helped lead the Cincinnati Bearcats to a 78-70 win over the South Florida Bulls in a Big East tilt at Fifth Third Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Bearcats (13-6, 4-3 Big East) were Rashad Bishop and Jaquon Parker with 15 points apiece in the team's second straight victory.

The Bulls (11-7, 1-5) were paced by Dominique Jones who tallied a game-high 21 points, followed by Chris Howard who registered a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Jarrid Famous tallied 14 points and seven rebounds and Mike Mercer 10 points as USF lost for the fifth time in the last six outings.

Both teams shot the ball well from the field in the first half, but the Bulls ended up missing all six of their three-point tries in the period, allowing Cincinnati to grab a 41-32 lead at the break.

In the second half the Bearcats connected on an outstanding 62.5 percent from the field to maintain a safe distance and grab the eight-point home win.

The Bearcats survived just 5-of-14 shooting behind the three-point line and 13-of-23 at the charity stripe on the night.
