Sparks take down Fever
Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Candace Parker poured in 34 points to help the Los Angeles Sparks to an 86-78 win over the Indiana Fever on Tuesday.
Kristi Toliver finished with 22 points for LA, which has won three straight.
Tamika Catchings supplied 25 points for the Fever, while Marissa Coleman and Shavonte Zellous each had 16 points apiece in the setback.
Indiana brought a 46-36 lead into the break, but the Sparks took control in the second half.
Parker scored five points during a 16-4 third quarter opening run that gave the visitors the lead.
Later in the third, Zellous knocked down a 3-pointer and Parker answered at the other end with a 2-point jumper to pull LA within three, 68-65, heading into the fourth.
The Fever led by three with under six minutes to go when the Sparks ended the game on a 14-3 spurt. Toliver tied the game at 75-75 with a trey and Alana Beard followed with 3-of-4 from the free throw line to put Los Angeles up for good.
