After Chivas USA was closed down last month, Major League Soccer held a dispersal draft on Wednesday that saw seven of the clubs players selected, including goalkeeper Dan Kennedy, who was the first pick by FC Dallas.
Expansion team New York City FC used the second selection on midfielder Matthew Dunn, while D.C. United, picking fourth, chose midfielder Thomas McNamara, who showed promise before going down with an ACL injury that forced him to miss a large part of the season.
A pair of homegrown players, forward Caleb Calvert and midfielder Marco Delgado were selected by the Colorado Rapids and Toronto FC respectively.
