Description: Panthers center Alexsander Barkov has the potential to score 30 goals this season.
Insight: Our projections have him scoring between 15 and 20, but his high upside makes him a good gamble in the middle rounds of the draft. Barkov is just 19 years old and how productive he is will depend greatly on how much the Panthers can improve under new head coach Gerald Gallant. Barkov will be the top-line center.

Insight: Barkov, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 draft, has a team-high 24 points on 80 SOG in 50 games. That's solid work from a rookie, but he'll be unlikely to help over the team's four-game road trip.

Description: Panthers rookie center Aleksander Barkov left Tuesday's game against Buffalo with a lower body injury, didn't practice Thursday and has been downgraded to out for Friday's game with Colorado.
Insight: Barkov, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 draft, has 23 points on 80 SOG in 49 games, but had just two points in his last seven games. Still, that's solid work from a rookie.
