Description: Sabres goalie Michal Neuvirth (lower body) will miss Tuesday's game against the Flames, according to Paul Hamilton of wgr550.com.
Insight: Neuvirth and Jhonas Enroth are both out, so Nathan Lieuwen (2.34 GAA, .922 SV% in AHL) will get his first NHL start.

3/16/2014 8:09:00 PM
Description: Sabres goalie Michal Neuvirth is out with a lower-body injury, according to John Vogl of the Buffalo News.
Insight: Neuvirth has faced 98 shots in his first two starts with the Sabres and made 93 saves, a .949 SV%. Buffalo acquired him from Washington for Jaroslav Halak at the trade deadline.

3/8/2014 4:57:00 PM
Description: In his first appearance with the Sabres, Michal Neuvirth made 42 saves on 44 shots in a 2-0 loss at Florida Friday night.
Insight: Neuvirth and Jhonas Enroth will probably split starts for Buffalo the rest of the season. Neither player is good enough to overcome the Sabres' pitiful defense, Friday's results aside.

11/29/2013 10:38:00 AM
Description: Capitals backup goaltender Michal Neuvirth is expected to get the start Friday against Montreal, according to Katie Carrera of the Washington Post.
Insight: Neuvirth has made seven appearances behind Braden Holtby this season and is 2-3-1 with a 2.83 GAA and a .912 SV%. He has little fantasy value.

11/9/2013 12:58:00 PM
Description: Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth is expected to get the nod Saturday against the Coyotes, according to Katie Carrera of the Washington Post.
Insight: Neuvirth has made five appearances (three starts) behind Braden Holtby this season and is 2-2-0 with a 2.79 GAA and a .913 SV%. He has no fantasy value.

10/28/2013 6:41:00 PM
Description: Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth will start Monday at Vancouver.
Insight: Starter Braden Holtby was pulled from Saturday's game after allowing three goals in the first 13 minutes, but he's mostly settled down after a terrible start. Neuvirth is 1-1-0 with a 3.08 GAA and an .893 SV% in three games, so the team is in no hurry to make a change in net.

10/12/2013 2:45:00 PM
Description: Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth will start Saturday against the 4-0 Avalanche.
Insight: Even though Braden Holtby has allowed 13 goals in his first four games and has a 4.04 GAA and an .873 SV%, the Caps have refrained from using Neuvirth since he relieved Holtby on Oct. 3. This will be his first start of the season.

4/25/2013 1:51:00 PM
Description: Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth will start Thursday's game against the Senators.
Insight: The Caps already have clinched the Southeast Division and the No. 3 seed in the East, so they can rest Braden Holtby. Neuvirth has a 2.81 GAA in 12 appearances this season.

3/16/2013 12:33:00 PM
Description: Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth will start in Washington's game against Boston Saturday afternoon, according to the Washington Times.
Insight: The Capitals started the season giving both Neuvirth and Braden Holtby an even share of the work, but Holtby has been getting most of it of late. Neuvirth is 2-4-1 this season with a 2.86 GAA and a .900 save percentage.

3/9/2013 11:53:00 AM
Description: Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth will miss Saturday's game against the NY Islanders due to illness.
Insight: The Capitals started the season giving both Neuvirth (1-4-1, 3.05 GAA, .889 SV%) and Braden Holtby similar workloads, but Neuvirth seems to have lost his chances after being pulled from a game with Pittsburgh on Feb. 7.

3/2/2013 12:48:00 PM
Description: Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth is questionable for Saturday's game against Winnipeg due to illness.
Insight: The Capitals started the season giving both Neuvirth (1-4-1, 3.05 GAA, .889 SV%) and Braden Holtby similar workloads, but Neuvirth seems to have lost his chances after being pulled from a game with Pittsburgh on Feb. 7.

2/27/2013 2:08:00 PM
Description: Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth will not be available for Wednesday's game against Philadelphia due to illness.
Insight: The Capitals started the season giving both Neuvirth (1-4-1, 3.05 GAA, .889 SV%) and Braden Holtby similar workloads, but Neuvirth seems to have lost his chances after being pulled from a game with Pittsburgh on Feb. 7.

2/7/2013 5:20:00 PM
Description: Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth will get his second straight start Tuesday versus Pittsburgh.
Insight: The Capitals seem to be giving their goaltenders starts in streaks instead of alternating one game at a time. Braden Holtby started the first two games and Neuvirth got the next five before Holtby got two more. Holtby and Neuvirth have allowed a combined 36 goals in 600 minutes (3.60 GAA).

2/5/2013 5:41:00 PM
Description: Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth will defend the net Tuesday against the Maple Leafs.
Insight: It's his first start since Jan. 31. Braden Holtby beat the Flyers on Feb. 1 with 29 saves on 31 chances to earn another start two days later but he gave up six goals to the Penguins. If you are forced to pick a Capitals goaltender, go with Neuvirth, but right now neither guy is a good fantasy option.

Insight: Neuvirth hasn't been great but he has clearly eclipsed Braden Holtby. The latter hasn't appeared in four straight games.

1/29/2013 6:19:00 PM
Description: Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth will protect the net against the Senators Tuesday night.
Insight: This will be Neuvirth's fourth straight start after Braden Holtby bombed in the first two. Neuvirth has a 2.92 GAA and .889 SV% this season and is a low-level No. 2 option.

1/27/2013 1:15:00 PM
Description: Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth will get the start Sunday against the Sabres. Washington will try to right the ship after an 0-3-1 start.
Insight: Neuvirth has seemingly overtaken Braden Holtby as the team's starter but he hasn't been much better. After Holtby allowed 10 goals on 73 shots in the team's first two games, Neuvirth has started the last two and allowed seven on 57 shots. Neither player should be trusted in fantasy.

Description: Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth will start Thursday against the Canadiens. SOURCE: Stephen Whyno, Washington Times
Insight: Neuvirth will be making his first start of the season. He can't do much worse than Braden Holtby, who went 0-2 with a 5.03 GAA in the first two games.

4/17/2012 2:40:00 PM
Description: Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth practiced on Sunday and is making strong progress in his return from a ower body injury.
Insight: With Tomas Vokoun and Neuvirth injured, Braden Holtby has been in goal for the Capitals and performed very well despite going 1-2 in the first three games of the series. Holtby owns a 1.77 GAA and a .942 save percentage.

3/19/2011 10:02:00 AM
Description: Neuvirth turned away all 33 Devils shots Friday night for his fourth shutout of the season.
Insight: Neuvirth is now 4-0 in his career against New Jersey and has allowed only four goals total in those contests. He has won five of his past six decisions. (RapidDraft.com)
