Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Derek Roy scored in the fourth round of the
shootout to lift the St. Louis Blues over the Boston Bruins, 3-2, on Thursday.
Roy also scored in regulation for the Blues, who improved to 15-3-3 on the
season. David Backes also lit the lamp.
Jaroslav Halak stopped 29-of-31 shots for St. Louis.
Gregory Campbell and Carl Soderberg scored for Boston, which had a brief two-
game winning streak snapped. Tuukka Rask made 24 saves.
"I thought it was a real fun game to watch," Boston coach Claude Julien said.

The shootout was tied 1-1 after Patrice Bergeron and Alexander Steen scored in
the first and second rounds, respectively. Roy, the final shooter in the
fourth round, used a snap shot to beat Rask after Halak bested Chris Kelly.
The Bruins drew first blood with 1:40 left in the first period. After the
Blues turned the puck over in their own zone, Campbell beat Halak on a shot
from the right circle.
Roy tied the game just 31 seconds later on an innocent shot from the left
point. The puck trickled past Rask and into the back of the net.
"We weathered the storm right away and then responded on their goal," Roy
said. "And I thought all around we did a good job."
The Blues took the lead at the 16:04 mark of the middle stanza when Kevin
Shattenkirk's shot from the right point was tipped in by Backes.
Soderberg's shot from the top of the right circle made it a 2-2 contest with
Halak made 11 saves during a scoreless third period, while Rask stopped six

St. Louis coach Ken Hitchcock picked up his 620th career win, tying him with
