Tokarski to start Game 3 for Canadiens
Montreal, QC (SportsNetwork.com) - Dustin Tokarski will again be in net for the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals against the New York Rangers.
Canadiens coach Michel Therrien confirmed the news on Wednesday.
Tokarski started Game 2 after it was learned that Carey Price would miss the remainder of the series with an apparent leg injury he sustained in the opener.
Price sat out the third period of Game 1 on Saturday after yielding four goals in the 7-2 loss. Rangers forward Chris Kreider crashed into Price feet-first during the second period, but the netminder played the remainder of the stanza before being pulled.
Peter Budaj played the third period on Saturday and yielded three goals on just eight shots, leading to Therrien's decision to start Tokarski for Game 2.
Tokarski surrendered three goals on 30 shots in the 3-1 decision, which gave the Rangers a 2-0 series lead heading to Madison Square Garden for Thursday.
