Description: The NFL has officially suspended Bengals DL Antwan Odom for four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Odom was already expected to miss the next couple weeks with a knee injury, so it's not like the team wasn't prepared.

Description: The Cincinnati Bengals will be without DE Antwan Odom for at least the next two to three games.
Insight: Odom left Sunday's Week 5 game late in the fourth quarter, hopping on one leg. He was wearing a brace on his right knee as he walked through the locker room Wednesday and even with a bye week coming up, sources say the injury will set him back a few weeks.

Description: Odom is listed as questionable because of a wrist injury. Odom did practice on a limited basis on Friday.
Insight: Most fantasy owners can go ahead and find another option instead of a guy with little production to date. That said, a matchup with Carolina rookie QB Jimmy Clausen could be attractive for those in deep IDP leagues. (

Description: Bengals RE Antwan Odom expects to avoid his suspension because the element he is being suspended for is contained in a medicine he is prescribed. SOURCE: Pro Football Talk
Insight: It's highly unlikely as Odom should have been aware of the banned substance in the prescription, plus, the NFL doesn't care about that as outline in their substance abuse program. He'll play week 1 while a decision is pending.

Description: Bengals DL Antwan Odom is reportedly facing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's steroids policy. SOURCE: PRO FOOTBALL TALK
Insight: The suspension is currently in the appeal process, but we doubt Odom gets out of it. He is still expected to play this weekend.

Description: Bengals RE Antwan Odom could sit out the rest of the preseason after aggravating an old meniscus injury.
Insight: Odom is a talented IDP player, but his injury history is too much to risk a high pick in. (

Description: There is a possibility that the Bengals may sit DL Antwan Odom for the rest of the preseason after he aggravated an old meniscus injury. SOURCE: BENGALS.COM
Insight: Odom's Achilles seems to be holding up fine after off-season surgery and the team is likely playing it safe with the knee. We expect Odom to be ready by Week One.
8/7/2010 2:21:00 PM
Description: Antwan Odom (Achillies' surgery) has participated in 11 of the Bengals' 12 practices so far.
Insight: That's great news as he is a fantasy force when he's on the field. However, the odds of him staying healthy (especially after such a devastating injury) are long. (

Description: GEORGETOWN, Ky. - Antwan Odom zips around the Cincinnati Bengals' training camp on a two-wheel transport, getting where he wants to go as fast as he can. SOURCE: YAHOO! SPORTS - NFL - DALLAS COWBOYS NEWS
Insight: He could be a real value in IDP leagues because of the injury. Odom was tearing the league and leading the NFL in sacks before landing on IR. He has the upside to be a top 15 DL if he can stay healthy.

Description: NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that Bengals RE Antwan Odom (Achilles' surgery) returned to the practice field late last week.
Insight: This is great news for his owners as well as those who own the Cincinnati team defense. Odom was tearing up the league last season before his injury. (
5/11/2010 10:10:00 AM
Description: Beat writer Joe Reedy speculates that Antwan Odom could be traded or released if he gets injured or outplayed at training camp.
Insight: This report seems off base. Even though Odom is an injury risk, he was having a good season last year prior to tearing his Achilles heel and, if he's healthy, there's no reason not to expect the same thing this time around. (
9/10/2009 1:07:00 PM
Description: Odom appears to be recovered from his heel issue and should be able to play Week One.
Insight: He may be healthy now, but another injury always seems to be lurking on the horizon with him. (
8/2/2009 3:16:00 PM
Description: Odom is recovered from the shoulder issue that caused him to miss four games last year.
12/14/2008 10:31:00 AM
Description: Odom will return to the lineup today after missing the past four games with a tear in a shoulder muscle. He could be a sleeper line play against a Washington offense that will be operating without left tackle Chris Samuels. (
12/7/2008 1:05:00 PM
Description: Antwan Odom will miss his fourth straight game this week, continuing to hamper a pass rush that is already among the league's worst. Peyton Manning should have a pretty clear path to passing success today against the Bengals. (
