Description: Steelers beat writer Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports the Steelers are not going to impose a team suspension on either Le'Veon Bell or LeGarrette Blount.
Insight: Bouchette listed two reasons why the Steelers will not suspend their running backs for their marijuana arrest. 1. Pittsburgh cannot afford to miss both running backs for even a game because they have absolutely no depth after Bell and Blount. 2. Team-imposed suspensions for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy are against the league's collective bargaining agreement. Therefore, only the NFL can suspend Bell and Blount, but the word is that still won't happen until after the season. Fantasy owners have been afraid to draft Bell too early since his arrest, so he can provide some tremendous value in the third or fourth round, but he is also still worthy of a second round selection.

Description: Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said the team has not ruled out suspending running backs Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount for their recent arrests, according to ESPN.com.
Insight: Bell and Blount were arrested for marijuana possession on Aug. 20 and Bell was also charged with DUI. It's likely the Steelers will just wait for the legal process to play out and let the NFL punish Bell and Blount. Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe was recently suspended one game for getting arrested for marijuana possession in November. Rookie Dri Archer is Pittsburgh's third-string running back.

Description: Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell played into the fourth quarter, gaining 23 yards on nine carries.
Insight: Bell, along with the entire Pittsburgh offense, laid a stinker in Philadelphia. Playing into the fourth quarter appeared to be Bell's punishment for his DUI and marijuana arrest. He will more than likely not miss a game this season due to a suspension, and is thus still the clear No. 1 guy in the Pittsburgh backfield and a quality second or third round pick on draft day.

8/21/2014 11:09:00 AM
Description: The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount "probably face no more than a one-game suspension and that won't come anytime soon." Ross Township Police in Pittsburgh arrested Bell and Blount for marijuana possession on Wednesday.
Insight: Police also charged Bell with DUI, according to Colin Dunlap of CBS Sports. The NFL, however, typically waits for the legal process to play out until handing out their own suspensions. For instance, Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe had marijuana in his car last Novemeber and is not serving his one game suspension until Week 1 this year. The only question remains is whether the Steelers suspend Bell one game like they did to Santonio Holmes back in 2008 for the same offense. Since Bell's crime happened during preseason, he may only sit out the third preseason game rather than a regular season game.

Description: Steelers running backs Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount were arrested for marijuana possession on Wednesday and Bell was also charged with DUI, according to Colin Dunlap of CBS.
Insight: Bell and Blount may face suspensions once the case is resolved, which won't be for a while. Bell will be Pittsburgh's workhorse this season, but he said over the weekend that Blount will probably get the goal-line carries.

8/17/2014 11:55:00 AM
Description: Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has indicated that LeGarrette Blount is thought of as a red zone and goal-line back.
Insight: After Saturday night's preseason game Le'Veon Bell said Blount would get the goal line work. It seems pretty obvious that everyone is in agreement on this fact. Reduce Bell's fantasy value accordingly and raise Blount a bit.

8/14/2014 10:25:00 PM
Description: Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said running back Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount will "both get their share."
Insight: Concerning words for fantasy owners who want to select Bell early in the draft. Bell had excellent numbers after missing the first three games in 2013 (1,259 yards from scrimmage, 8 TDs) and fantasy owners want big production from him this season, but Blount could thwart the strategy.

8/6/2014 3:33:00 PM
Description: Pittsburgh running back Le'Veon Bell reported to training camp at 232 pounds, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He played in the 240s last season.
Insight: "I wanted to be lighter; I feel like I move a little better," Bell said. "I'm still strong, I'm still a big back -- 230 is still big. So I don't feel like I need to be 240. Looking at my film, when I was lighter, I made cuts a lot quicker, I was faster. I feel better around that weight, so I'm going to stay around that weight." Bell averaged just 3.5 ypc last season, but getting down to 232 pounds should help him increase that this season.

Description: Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh halfback Le'Veon Bell should be ready for Sunday's game against Miami. SOURCE: Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Insight: Head coach Mike Tomlin said Bell looked good on Tuesday. Bell has a few concussion tests to pass before he gets clearance to play, but it looks like he's on track to play in Week 14.

12/3/2013 10:38:00 AM
Description: Steelers rookie running back Le'Veon Bell (concussion) was doing some running Monday, but he'll be a big question mark for Sunday's game with Miami.
Insight: The next test will be to see if he is allowed to practice Wednesday. Jonathan Dwyer and Felix Jones would share the workload if Bell ends up sitting Sunday.

11/29/2013 9:48:00 AM
Description: Steelers rookie running back Le'Veon Bell suffered an apparent head injury late of the fourth quarter of Thursday night's game against Baltimore.
Insight: Fantasy owners were robbed of a touchdown on the play in question when Bell's helmet flew off as he was falling over the goal line. A new rule signals the end of the play at the moment the helmet comes off costing fantasy owners a score.

10/20/2013 7:16:00 PM
Description: Steelers rookie running back Le'Veon Bell churned out 93 rushing yards Sunday against the Ravens.
Insight: Bell had 19 of the Steelers' 29 carries in the game. He's clearly locked in as the team's lead back after missing the first three games due to a sprained foot.

9/29/2013 5:29:00 PM
Description: Steelers rookie running back Le'Veon Bell touched the ball 20 times, had 84 yards from scrimmage and scored two touchdowns in his NFL debut Sunday versus the Steelers.
Insight: Bell missed the first three games with a sprained foot, but the Steelers threw the second-round pick right into the mix in his first game. Pittsburgh's other running backs combined for four carries for 10 yards. Bell should be a workhorse going forward, which makes him a reliable RB2.

9/29/2013 11:55:00 AM
Description: Steelers rookie running back Le'Veon Bell (foot), who was a full participant in Friday's practice, is active for the Week 4 game versus Minnesota.
Insight: The Pittsburgh offense is struggling, particularly the running game and look to be determined to see if Bell is the answer. We're not sure if he is, but he's got a better chance to turn around the ground attack than anyone else on the Steelers' current roster.

Description: Steelers rookie running back Le'Veon Bell (foot) was a full participant in Friday's practice and appears to be in line with his first NFL start.
Insight: The Pittsburgh offense is struggling, particularly the running game and the look to be determined to see if Bell is the answer. We're not sure if he is, but he's got a better chance to turn around the ground attack than anyone else on the Steelers' current roster.

9/26/2013 3:32:00 PM
Description: The Steelers have not given the official word, but Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports rookie running back Le'Veon Bell (foot) will start Sunday against the Vikings.
Insight: Bell is expected to make his NFL debut Sunday after missing the first three games with a sprained foot, and the team isn't wasting any time getting him involved after an 0-3 start. If he's officially announced as the starter, bump him up to a mid-level flex play.

9/26/2013 11:59:00 AM
Description: Steelers rookie running back Le'Veon Bell says his foot is 100 percent, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Insight: Bell is expect to make his NFL debut Sunday against the Vikings after missing the first three games with a sprained foot. The rookie should eventually take over as the lead back but he's a risky flex option Sunday given his uncertain role and Pittsburgh's ineptitude on offense.
