Description: Wideout Chaz Schilens signed with the Detroit Lions on Wednesday.
Insight: The oft-injured Schilens is obviously insurance just in case Nate Burleson (leg) and Ryan Broyles (knee) aren't ready to go. The team is also expected to work out Laurent Robinson.

12/29/2012 4:24:00 PM
Description: Jets wideout Chaz Schilens (knee) won't play Sunday, according to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com
Insight: The oft-injured Schilens didn't even travel with the team to Buffalo. He'll finish with 289 yards and two touchdowns on 28 receptions in 15 games this season. The former seventh-rounder has just 1,191 yards and nine touchdowns in 59 career games.

9/30/2012 12:17:00 PM
Description: Jets wideout Chaz Schilens will start opposite Santonio Holmes Sunday against the 49ers with Stephen Hill inactive, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. Jeremy Kerley will play his regular role as the slot man in three-receiver sets.
Insight: Schilens only has three catches in three games this season. The Jets offense is not prolific enough to support two starting fantasy receivers, especially against San Francisco, so Schilens is not an option Sunday.

9/3/2011 12:28:00 PM
Description: Jets wideout Chaz Schilens is probable for Sunday's game against Buffalo with an ankle injury.
Insight: Schilens (23-274-2 with Oakland in 2011) is behind rookie Stephen Hill on the depth chart and has been injury prone throughout his career, so his fantasy value is questionable.

Description: The Raiders have put WR Chaz Schilens "on notice" after drafting rookie WR Denarius Moore. SOURCE: CSN BAY AREA
Insight: Schilens is on the roster bubble after being injury riddled over the past two seasons. He's not a fantasy option if he stays in Oakland.

12/9/2010 11:01:00 PM
Description: Schilens was limited in Thursday's practice. He reportedly played just seven snaps in his Week 13 return.
Insight: The only fantasy relevance for Schilens is that it's a fantasy for anyone to believe he'll be relevant this season. (RapidDraft.com)

12/7/2010 3:02:00 PM
Description: Per the Oakland Tribune, Raiders coach Tom Cable indicated that Chaz Schilens' role could grow down the stretch.
Insight: Even if his role does in fact grow, Schilens will provide little value to any fantasy roster. Steer clear of the perpetually injured receiver. (RapidDraft.com)

12/6/2010 3:04:00 PM
Description: The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Chaz Schilens played a handful of snaps in his season debut Sunday and had no catches on one target.
Insight: The oft-injured Schilens provided a little bit of depth to a decimated receiving corps, but provides virtually no fantasy value to speak of. (RapidDraft.com)

12/3/2010 3:04:00 PM
Description: The Oakland Tribune reports that Raiders WR Chaz Schilens (foot, knee) has practiced on back-to-back days for the first time since training camp.
Insight: He's been limited in both practices, so it remains to be seen if he'll even be seen at all in 2011. Schilens isn't worth a look in any format. (RapidDraft.com)

11/30/2010 3:03:00 PM
Description: According to the Oakland Tribune, Raiders coach Tom Cable claims that Chaz Schilens (foot, knee) is progressing and could practice on a limited basis this week.
Insight: These reports have come sporadically through the season with nothing materializing on the field. We'd be surprised if he contributes anything in 2010 at this point. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Raiders WR Chaz Schilens suffered another setback with his injured foot. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Tom Cable revealed that Schilens re-cracked the foot that had been given him problems all year. He could be placed on injured reserve.

11/19/2010 4:00:00 PM
Description: Chad Schilens (foot, knee) practiced for the first time all season, according to the Oakland Tribune.
Insight: The practice wasn't anywhere near to full speed, so don't look too much into this report. Schilens won't play this weekend and his week 12 availability also remains in doubt. He'll most likely be back this season, albeit in a backup capacity. (RapidDraft.com)

11/17/2010 8:00:00 PM
Description: Vittorio Tafur of the SF Chronicle suggests that Chaz Schilens (foot, knee) "may not be back this season."
Insight: Tom Cable described it as "not so much a setback, it?s responded really well when we?re on the field running straight ahead," said Cable. "It?s just a matter of being able to cut and coming in and out of cuts. Still not very smooth yet." It doesn't look very promising for the wideout. (RapidDraft.com)

11/10/2010 9:03:00 PM
Description: The Oakland Tribune reports that Raiders WR Chaz Schilens (foot, knee) has resumed cutting and running cone drills "with no sign of a limp" during the Raiders' Week 10 bye.
Insight: There is a possibility Schilens returns to the field for the week 11 matchup against the Steelers. While he'll be a welcome addition to Oakland's banged-up receiving corps, his lack of practice and playing time this year give him no fantasy value to speak of. (RapidDraft.com)

11/5/2010 3:05:00 PM
Description: The Oakland Tribune reports that Raiders coach Tom Cable acknowledged that WR Chaz Schilens knee surgery wasn't as simple as he let on.
Insight: Cable described the procedure as something that "was fairly extensive, so it takes time." While Schilens is on the road to recovery, he's not practicing. It appears it'll be a while before he gets any meaningful playing time. (RapidDraft.com)

11/5/2010 8:53:00 AM
Description: According to Raiders HC Tom Cable, WR Chaz Schilens' August knee surgery wasn't just a simple scope as Cable has previously announced. SOURCE: OAKLOAND TRIBUNE
Insight: "It was fairly extensive, so it takes time." It did seem odd that Schilens has yet to even practice, despite undergoing what seemed like such a simple procedure. Schilens shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy roster at this point.

10/28/2010 8:54:00 AM
Description: According to Raiders HC Tom Cable, the team is frustrated with Chaz Schilens' (knee, foot) lengthy recovery time. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: There hasn't even been a timetable set for Schilens' return. He is obviously not on anyone's radar. And his keeper value is pretty shaky was well.

10/20/2010 8:03:00 PM
Description: Vittorio Tafur of the SF Chronicle reports that Chad Schilens (knee, foot) is still unable to practice.
Insight: The notoriously slow healer is still out with no imminent signs of returning. Tafur replied with "Ha!" when asked if he would play in week 7. There is currently no timetable for his return. (RapidDraft.com)

10/19/2010 3:04:00 PM
Description: According to the Oakland Tribune, Raiders WR Chaz Schilens has been "getting some of his burst back."
Insight: Schilens was originally anticipated to miss 3-6 weeks after knee surgery, but is now coming up on 2 months. Even though he's showing signs of improvement, there is no timetable for his return. (RapidDraft.com)

10/11/2010 8:04:00 PM
Description: Chaz Schilens has been ruled out for week 6.
Insight: Vittorio Tafur of the SF Chronicle reports that Schilens continues to battle a knee and foot injury, and coach Tom Cable has admitted he's been recovering slower than anticipated. Don't rule out a place on injured reserve. (RapidDraft.com)
