A redshirt at Kansas State in 2009, Flanders set 33 Sam Houston and nine Southland Conference records, including career rushing yards (5,664) an points (420). He led the conference in rushing in each of his four seasons ... Was a three-time finalist for the Walter Payton Award and named the Southland player of the year in both 2011 and '12, when Sam Houston played in the FCS national title game ... Flanders has a low-level frame (5-foot-9) which allows him to see the field well. Not exceptionally fast, he will run inside and likes to use the jump cut to free himself from one-on-one tackles ... Durable back caught 34 passes for 414 yards as a sophomore. Also set the school record with 287 rushing yards versus Montana in the 2011 FCS semifinals ...
