Description: The Boston Globe is reporting that injured Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez should be healthy enough to play Thursday against the Jets. Hernandez has been inactive the past three games while recovering from a sprained ankle.
Insight: Rob Gronkowski's forearm injury has breathed new life into what has been a disappointing season for Hernandez. With Gronk on the shelf, Hernandez should be one of New England's top receiving options Thanksgiving night in the Meadowlands.

Description: New England tight end Aaron Hernandez has officially been ruled out for Sunday's game against Indianapolis. He's still recovering from a sprained ankle.
Insight: Hernandez is taking an awfully long time to recover and at this point, it's safe for fantasy owners to abandon him. Rob Gronkowski remains the only startable Patriots tight end for fantasy purposes.

Description: Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez (ankle) is not expected to play Sunday against Indianapolis, according to NFL Network's Albert Breer.
Insight: New England activated TE Visanthe Shiancoe last Saturday but he won't help fantasy owners. It means more targets for Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd, Danny Woodhead and Rob Gronkowski.

11/10/2012 11:17:00 AM
Description: Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez will be a game-time decision Sunday against Buffalo according to ESPN's John Clayton.
Insight: Hernandez has been limited to four games this season because of a high ankle sprain. The prevailing belief is that he'll play on Sunday but it would be wise to check again before Sunday's 1 p.m. start just to be safe.

11/7/2012 7:53:00 PM
Description: New England tight end Aaron Hernandez returned to practice on Wednesday.
Insight: Hernandez hadn't practiced in over a week while dealing with ankle soreness. He should be a go for Sunday's divisional matchup against the Bills.

Description: Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez did not participate in a full-pads practice on Tuesday.
Insight: Despite his absence, we expect he'll make it onto the practice field later in the week. We likely won't get the final word on his availability for Sunday until closer to game-time.

10/26/2012 4:36:00 PM
Description: Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has been ruled out for this week's game against the Rams. He's still struggling with an ankle injury.

10/26/2012 12:03:00 PM
Description: New England tight end Aaron Hernandez (ankle) didn't make the flight with his teammates to London, according to Mike Reiss.
Insight: Hernandez is expecting to be a new daddy this weekend. He could still possibly make a later flight, but at this point fantasy owners should be using their backup plans.

10/25/2012 1:37:00 PM
Description: New England tight end Aaron Hernandez (ankle) didn't practice Thursday for the second straight week but should be fine to play Sunday against the Rams.
Insight: The Patriots are still easing Hernandez back into action, though he did play a heavier workload in Week 7 than the previous week. He finished with 54 yards on five catches but he dropped a touchdown on a tough catch over his shoulder in the back corner of the end zone. The tight end should be fine to play in Week 8 versus St. Louis in London.

10/18/2012 1:12:00 PM
Description: New England tight end Aaron Hernandez told reporters Thursday that he feared he had a broken ankle when he went down in Week 2, but said the injury is now healed, according to ESPN Boston.
Insight: Hernandez played 38 of 87 offensive snaps (including penalties) in his return in Week 6 and said he wasn't thinking about his ankle during the game. There were no complications after the game and the tight end should be in line for an increased role against the Jets this Sunday.

10/15/2012 11:15:00 AM
Description: New England tight end Aaron Hernandez hauled in six catches for 30 yards and a touchdown Sunday against Seattle.
Insight: It was Hernandez's first game since suffering an ankle injury in Week 2. He was targeted nine times on Sunday and should see just as many looks next week versus the Jets.

10/14/2012 3:06:00 PM
Description: Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez will play Sunday against Seattle. Hernandez had been listed as questionable because of a sprained ankle.
Insight: We suspected Hernandez would be in action this week but it's not a great matchup for him as the Seahawks have been notoriously stingy when it comes to covering tight ends. We're guessing Hernandez will be a better play next week against the Jets when he's closer to 100 percent.

10/13/2012 6:21:00 PM
Description: New England tight end Aaron Hernandez is expected to be used in a limited capacity Sunday against the Seahawks according to Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe.
Insight: Hernandez hasn't played since spraining his ankle in Week 2's game against the Cardinals. Fantasy owners should wait another week before inserting the Pro Bowl tight end back into their starting lineup.

10/13/2012 2:59:00 PM
Description: Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez (ankle) traveled with the team to Seattle despite missing practice Friday, according to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald.
Insight: Hernandez has missed three games with a sprained ankle, and while he's still not guaranteed to play Sunday it's a good sign that he's with the team. The tight end didn't travel with New England to Baltimore or Buffalo because he had been ruled out. Hernandez is still likely to be a game-time decision and even if he plays he will be on a limited snap count.

10/12/2012 5:31:00 PM
Description: The Patriots issue a correction saying tight end Aaron Hernandez (ankle) did not practice Friday. The team had initially listed Hernandez as limited in Friday's practice.
Insight: Hernandez may have suffered a setback or perhaps he was never slated to practice Friday in the first place -- we'll never know with the tight-lipped Patriots. Hernandez is still listed as questionable and will be a game-time decision Sunday.

10/12/2012 1:53:00 PM
Description: Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez (ankle) will likely be a game-time decision. He is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Seattle.
Insight: Hernandez will certainly not be at 100 percent, but the Pats outside receivers will be tested by a strong Seahawks secondary. Rob Gronkowski and Hernandez, if active, could see a lot of targets.
