Description: Free agent receiver Mike Sims-Walker is at the Houston Texans minicamp this week. He doesn't have a contract or an offer yet, but at least the team has shown some interest.
Insight: The Texans depth at the receiving position is very young and inexperienced and given the fragile nature of starters Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter, management is likely looking for an experienced wideout. However, we don't know that MSW is the answer. He certainly has no fantasy value at this time.

Insight: He's flying into Jacksonville today to sign the paperwork. The Jags are grasping at straws here and are bringing back a player that frustrated the organization as a whole. The Rams released him after six weeks into the season, but in Jacksonville, should supplant Jason Hill as the #2. He's worth a look on the wire in deeper leagues only.

Insight: Quite the bust in his short-time with the Rams. He's only 26, but it will be interesting to see how much interest he generates from around the league.

Insight: We aren't even sure MSW would be that much of an upgrade over Devone Bess. With the team having other needs on offense, especially in the backfield and quarterback, Sims-Walker may need to try somewhere else.

Description: There is belief that the Texans "will have no interest" in free agent WR Mike Sims-Walker. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: There was a shady report on Tuesday that stated that both the Texans and the Rams have "contacted" Sims-Walker, which would be considered tampering because free agency hasn't officially started yet. The Texans will make most of their moves on the defensive side with Wade Phillips implementing the 3-4 defense.

Description: The Rams and the Texans have reportedly "contacted" WR impending free agent Mike Sims-Walker. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: If this is true, the Rams and Texans would be accused of tampering before free agency starts, which won't until the new CBA is complete. Take this report with a grain of salt.

Description: Impending free agent WR Mike Sims-Walker has been told by the Jaguars that they are moving on without him in 2011. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Sims-Walker has talent, but he's just as brittle as fine China. He will get interest as a free agent, but we aren't sure if anyone sees him as a possible starter. Mike Thomas' fantasy value just went up.

Description: Sims-Walker came off the bench behind Jason Hill on Sunday while playing through the ankle sprain that has dogged him for weeks. He drew just one target and finished with no catches.
Insight: Sims-Walker matched his seven touchdowns of a year ago but caught 20 fewer passes in two fewer games and posted a lower yards-per-catch average. He's in line for free agency but will have to deal with injury proneness. Sims-Walker is way too inconsistent to be a strong fantasy option, though he'll certainly retain value. (

Description: Sims-Walker caught just one pass for 31 yards in Sunday's loss to Washington.
Insight: This has been a thoroughly frustrating season of ups and downs for any Sims-Walker owner. Perhaps better health or a different quarterback will change the 2011 outlook. (
12/20/2010 1:03:00 AM
Description: Sims-Walker caught four passes for just 42 yards in Sunday's loss but took two of his catches into the end zone.
Insight: Sometimes things just go that way. If he hadn't happened to wind up in the end zone twice, this day would have been another mediocre outing for MSW. The Week 16 matchup with Washington is attractive, though. (

Description: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker injured his ankle in the 1st quarter of Jacksonville's Week 15 game vs. Indy.
Insight: He's on the sidelines right now and his return is questionable. It seemed pretty bad at first, but he's now at least putting pressure on it.
12/13/2010 11:05:00 AM
Description: Sims-Walker returned to the lineup in Week 14 after being a somewhat surprising Saturday scratch the previous week. He caught two passes for 23 yards and a touchdown.
Insight: Sims-Walker continues to carry very limited fantasy value, but he's at least a better option right now than teammate Mike Thomas. (
12/9/2010 11:04:00 PM
Description: Sims-Walker participated fully in Thursday's practice. He was a surprise scratch in Week 13 because of an ankle sprain that he played through the week before.
Insight: Sims-Walker is far from a safe fantasy option, but he also carries sleeper value against Oakland. He figures to avoid Raiders No. 1 corner Nnamdi Asomugha for most of the day, which could mean more targets. (

Description: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) has officially been ruled out against the Titans. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: After being more involved against the Giants last Sunday, MSW may have suffered a setback in practice this week. His loss doesn't help an already sinking David Garrard. Look for Mike Thomas and Marcedes Lewis to pick up more looks.

Description: Sims-Walker has been ruled out for Week 13 because of an ankle sprain that he played through in Week 12, according to Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union.
Insight: The injury also kept Sims-Walker out in Week 11, but he led the team in targets last Sunday. Jason Hill figures to be the primary playing-time beneficiary, and more passes should go the way of Mike Thomas and Marcedes Lewis. (

Description: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle, questionable) is expected to start against the Giants, "but not play much." SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: MSW isn't a good option even if he was expected to play a full compliment of snaps. Keep him on the bench.
11/27/2010 10:03:00 PM
Description: Sims-Walker heads into Week 12 in better shape than last week, carrying a "questionable" designation after taking part in limited practice Thursday and Friday.
Insight: Sims-Walker basically missed all practice in Week 11 and the game after being listed as doubtful. Fantasy owners shouldn't wait for Sunday to bench him as the high ankle sprain and poor matchup make Sims-Walker an even weaker option than usual. (
11/23/2010 12:03:00 AM
Description: Sims-Walker missed Week 11 with what has been diagnosed a high ankle sprain.
Insight: It's not yet clear how much time Sims-Walker will miss, but figure on him at least being out in Week 12 and being droppable if you find an attractive option on the waiver wire. (

Description: It was revealed that Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker has a high right ankle sprain. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: With a 4-6 week time frame for this type of injury, Sims-Walker is easily droppable in all redraft leagues. Mike Thomas gets a bump in fantasy value after catching a touchdown pass in the last three games. Marcedes Lewis also figures to see more targets. It's hard to see Tiquan Underwood getting another start after his horrendous performance that included a dropped touchdown pass.
