Description: Denver tight end Jacob Tamme is expected to pick up most of the work at the slot position if Wes Welker is inactive for Thursday's game against San Diego.
Insight: Tamme saw 45-of-46 snaps after Welker went down last Sunday and caught four balls for 47 yards. Peyton Manning obviously has plenty of confidence in his backup tight end going back to their days in Indianapolis.

3/23/2012 4:56:00 PM
Description: Jacob Tamme has agreed to a three-year, $9 million deal with the Broncos, reuniting him with ex-Colt Peyton Manning.
Insight: Tamme had almost no fantasy impact in 2011 while the Colts dealt with quarterback issues. 2012 could be a different story though. Manning connected with Tamme 67 times for 637 yards during the 2010 season. With Daniel Fells in New England now, Tamme should be the number one tight end in Denver next season.

Description: Tamme's seven catches in Week 17 marked his third straight game with that reception total. He caught at least six passes in eight of 10 games after stepping in for the injured Dallas Clark.
Insight: Tamme was an immediate revelation following Clark's injury and throws a wrench into fantasy draft preparation at the position for the Colts. We'll have to monitor Clark's progress through the off-season and indications from the team about Tamme's role going forward. At this point we can't expect either player to disappear. Description: Tamme caught seven passes in the victory over the Jaguars but took them for a season-low 34 yards.
Insight: It was the sixth time in his eight games following Dallas Clark's injury that Tamme caught at least six balls. The likely loss of Austin Collie again could help Tamme's numbers in Week 16. (RapidDraft.com)

12/10/2010 11:00:00 AM
Description: Tamme played Thursday night despite being limited in practice by a knee injury. He posted a pedestrian four catches for 36 yards.
Insight: It's disappointing to get those numbers at playoff time from a guy who has been a fantasy revelation, but you need to step back and reflect before complaining about numbers you're getting from Jacob Tamme. (RapidDraft.com)

12/9/2010 7:20:00 PM
Description: NFL Network's Steve Wyche reports that "all indications" are that Colts TE Jacob Tamme (knee) will play against the Titans Thursday night. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Unless something drastic happens, plug Tamme in all your lineups. The Titans give up 13.4 points a game to fantasy tight ends.

12/9/2010 12:00:00 PM
Description: Tamme is listed as questionable for Thursday night and was just a partial participant in Wednesday's practice, but he appears likely to play.
Insight: Tamme has been dealing with dings (back, knee) here and there but has yet to miss game time. Check to make sure he's active before setting your Week 14 lineup, but he should be available. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Colts TE Jacob Tamme wasn't listed on the team's injury report Wednesday. SOURCE: NFL.FANHOUSE.COM
Insight: It was initially reported that Tamme's back injury was so bad after the win over the Bengals that he could barely walk, but it looks like he bounced back quickly. He is a must-start TE1 in a big contest against the Patriots.

11/15/2010 12:02:00 PM
Description: Tamme started, as expected, in Week 10 and caught seven more passes for 73 yards. The Indianapolis Star reported, however, that Tamme could barely walk after the game because of his ailing back.
Insight: Tamme missed early practice time in Week 10 and looked very iffy at one point. We'll have to see how he progresses with rest and treatment in Week 11. Obviously, he's a must-start if healthy at this point. (RapidDraft.com)

11/13/2010 1:05:00 PM
Description: Tamme is listed as questionable for Week 10, but he was a full practice participant Friday and is expected to play.
Insight: It might be a bigger story when someone is NOT listed as questionable by the Colts. Tamme is one of 10 Indy players carrying that designation for Week 10. He appears good to go after an early week scare with his back. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: After missing practice Wednesday, Colts TE Jacob Tamme fully participated Thursday. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Looks like Jim Caldwell's concern about Tamme's back was premature. Tamme ranks as our No. 1 tight end across the board against the Bengals.

11/11/2010 2:51:00 PM
Description: According to Colts HC Jim Caldwell, there is a "level of concern" regarding TE Jacob Tamme's back injury that kept him from practicing Wednesday. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Tamme has been a huge help to those owners who lost Dallas Clark for the year, so hopefully it isn't anything serious. We will know by Thursday evening whether Tamme was able to practice or not. Gijon Robinson would get the nod if Tamme was ruled out against the Bengals, but we are hoping that won't happen.

11/2/2010 9:19:00 AM
Description: Taking over for an injured Dallas Clark, Colts TE Jacob Tamme looked solid in his debut, catching six passes for 64 yards and a score against the Texans. SOURCE: NFL.COM
Insight: In a standard PPR league, that's 18 points, which is much more than we thought he would get. Peyton Manning showed a lot of trust in Tamme and showed that he may not be as much of a downgrade from Clark as we thought. He is a must start against the Eagles this weekend.

10/30/2010 9:05:00 PM
Description: Tamme heads into just his second pro start Monday night in his third season with the Colts. It couldn't come with a better matchup that Houston, though, which has been terrible in pass defense and against tight ends in particular.
Insight: Tamme has just six career catches, but GM Bill Polian has said he can do the same things on the field as Dallas Clark. Tamme will still be a big question mark until he actually performs, but at least he was an all-SEC performer in college. He's worth a gamble for those in need of tight end help. (RapidDraft.com)

10/26/2010 4:23:00 PM
Description: Colts president Bill Polian said TE Jacob Tamme "can do the same things in the offense" that TE Dallas Clark can do. SOURCE: COLTS.COM
Insight: Maybe, but he still isn't as talented as Clark. Still, Clark owners may not have better alternatives other than picking Tamme up. He should be a viable TE2, but don't expect Clark-like numbers.

10/22/2010 9:49:00 AM
Description: Colts TE Jacob Tamme is expected to step into TE Dallas Clark's (wrist) role on the offense. SOURCE: INDIANAPOLIS STAR
Insight: It's obvious that Tamme isn't going to match the skill level that Clark has, but he is worth a pickup if Clark owners literally have no other options.

1/4/2010 8:46:00 AM
Description: Tamme caught one pass for 21 yards on Sunday against the Bills.
Insight: Tamme had only three receptions on the season and has little fantasy value. (SportsBuff.com)

12/18/2009 8:30:00 AM
Description: Tamme had one catch for eight yards on Thursday against the Jaguars.
Insight: Tamme recorded his second catch of the season and has no fantasy value. (SportsBuff.com)

Steady4/12/2009 1:15:00 PM
Description: Tamme is a member of the three tight end class drafted by the Colts in the 2008 draft. He had three catches for 12 yards last year.
Insight: Tamme was an All-American at Kentucky, but found playing time hard to come by in his rookie season. His catches came in the first and last games of the season. It's unlikely he'll have much fantasy value in his second season. (SportsBuff.com)
