Description: Indianapolis Colts DE Robert Mathis suffered a right hamstring injury in the first quarter of the third preseason game Friday and did not return.
SOURCE: INDY STAR | Insight: He was excused from the game as a precautionary measure, but this is definitely raising eyebrows as the Colts have a history of devastating defensive injuries. For now, don't overreact, but definitely keep an eye on this situation.

Description: Colts DL Robert Mathis wants a new deal and it's pretty obvious that he's ready to sit out the season until he gets one.
SOURCE: FOX SPORTS | Insight: Mathis signed a five-year deal for $30 million in 2006, and (so far) has collected over $27 million of it. A person close to Mathis was recently quoted as saying... "He'll never play another snap there under that (existing) contract." Mathis probably deserves a new contract, but the Colts aren't likely to give it to him, meaning he could be traded or might just have to sit the season out.
