Description: Former Packers tight end Jermichael Finley has yet to find a landing spot in 2014.
Insight: Finley has had trouble finding a new team since undergoing offseason neck surgery. Fantasy owners know he's never lived up to the hype, but he should find a job somewhere this season, though he may have to wait until training camp injuries take their toll.

Insight: Finley has had trouble finding a new team since undergoing offseason neck surgery. The Patiots are known to be looking for tight end depth after hosting Dustin Keller earlier this offseason. This could be a good fit if Rob Gronkowski (torn ACL) has to miss the start of the season.

Insight: Finley is still on the mend following spinal fusion surgery. As productive as Finley has been throughout his career, teams tend to avoid players who are serious injury risks. If teams aren't convinced he's healthy, it could be a while before Finley signs his next contract.

Insight: Finley suffered a very serious spine injury last season and some wondered if he would ever play again. Assuming Finley is able to get back to full health, he'll be a decent fantasy option for owners who miss out on Jimmy Graham, Rob Gronkowski or Vernon Davis.

Description: The Packers have placed tight end Jermichael Finley on injured reserve.
Insight: Finley suffered a bruised spinal cord on Oct. 20 against the Browns when he took a hit to the back of his neck. The tight end said that doctors expect him to be able to play football again, but the impending free agent likely has played his last down as a Green Bay Packer.

Description: Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Packers tight end Jermichael Finley will probably need surgery on his bruised spinal cord.
Insight: The surgery would undoubtedly end Finley's season and could jeopardize the rest of his career. Spinal injuries are a very serious matter, though it's worth noting that Peyton Manning was able to make a full recovery after undergoing spinal fusion surgery about two years ago. It's too early to say Finley's career is over but even if surgery isn't required, he stilll faces a very long road to recovery.

Description: Green Bay tight end Jermichael Finley's bruised spinal cord is not a career-ending injury but ESPN's Ed Werder says it would not be surprising to see the Packers place him on injured reserve this week.
Insight: Finley left the field on a stretcher late in Sunday's win over Cleveland. The tight end has regained feeling in his arms and legs and was released from the ICU, but he's unlikely to play again this year. That leaves Andrew Quarless and Brandon Bostick as Green Bay's tight ends. Jarrett Boykin will remain one of Aaron Rodgers' top-three targets even if James Jones (knee) returns in Week 8.

Insight: Finley left the field on a stretcher after sustaining a neck injury late in Sunday's win over Cleveland. Though the tight end seems to be in good spirits (he's regained feeling in his arms and legs and has even been able to walk back and forth to the shower), we wouldn't expect to see him in uniform anytime soon.

Description: Packers tight end Jermichael Finley remained in the ICU unit at the hospital after suffering a neck injury in Sunday's game with Cleveland.
Insight: We await further updates, but this appeared to be pretty serious. Finley lowered his head while being tackled and ended up getting hit with a shoulder from Tashaun Gipson. The Packers have lost Randall Cobb, James Jones and Finley to injury the last two weeks.

Description: Packers tight end Jermichael Finley left Sunday's game on a stretcher after taking a shoulder to the back of the head.
Insight: Finley lowered his head while being tackled and ended up getting hit with a shoulder from Tashaun Gipson. He appeared to be moving his hands as he was leaving the field. The Packers have lost Randall Cobb, James Jones and Finley to injury the last two weeks.

10/3/2013 9:51:00 AM
Description: According to ESPN, Green Bay tight end Jermichael Finley expects to play this week against Detroit.
Insight: Finley suffered a concussion in Week 3 that was so frightening his young son tried to convince him to stay off the football field. Despite the concerns, Finley's condition has improved dramatically over the last week and a half and he should be a go for Sunday's contest against the high-scoring Lions. Finley had mixed results versus Detroit in the 2012 season (five catches, 82 yards, TD in two games).

Description: Packers tight end Jermichael Finley (concussion) has been cleared to practice and could be ready to go in Week 5.
Insight: The Packers had a bye in Week 4, so Finley had some extra time to get over the concussion he suffered against the Bengals. He was a big part of the Packers' offense in the first two weeks.

Insight: The Packers have a bye in Week 4, so Finley has some extra time to get over the concussion he suffered last Sunday against the Bengals. The tight end said he lost consciousness for a moment and was disoriented when he came to. "All I saw was jerseys," said Finley. "I saw pants, the yellow pants we wear. And I didn’t see no heads or legs. So everybody was decapitated and my body was just on fire."

Insight: Aaron Rodgers has plenty of other talented receivers he can throw to so it shouldn't affect his stat line too drastically. Andrew Quarless is Green Bay's backup tight end.

Description: Green Bay tight end Jermichael Finley left Sunday's game after taking a shot to the head.
Insight: The Packers lost Eddie Lacy early in last week's game to a concussion, and Finley may have suffered the same fate. We'll have updates soon.

Description: Green Bay tight end Jermichael Finley (toe) didn't practice on Wednesday.
Insight: He's still dealing with the sore toe that kept him out of some practice time last week, but Finley played Sunday's game and produced 65 yards and a touchdown on six catches. He's caught TD passes in back-to-back games for the first time since 2011.

Description: Green Bay tight end Jermichael Finley (toe) played Sunday's game and produced 65 yards and a touchdown on six catches.
Insight: The perennially disappointing tight end had 56 yards and a score in the opener but came away with a toe injury. However, it didn't appear to bother him Sunday versus Washington.

9/15/2013 10:07:00 AM
Description: Green Bay tight end Jermichael Finley should be a go for Sunday's 1 p.m. tilt against the Redskins.
Insight: At least that's what NFL Network's Albert Breer is hearing. Finley had a productive Week 1 (56 yards and a touchdown) but with so many other Packers receivers to throw to (Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson and James Jones to name a few), his week-to-week outlook can be murky.

9/12/2013 1:02:00 PM
Description: According to ESPN's Rob Demovsky, Packers tight end Jermichael Finley (toe) was spotted practicing in full pads Thursday.
Insight: Finley missed practice Wednesday and went to Minnesota for treatment for a toe injury he suffered early in Sunday's game against the Packers. Packers coach Mike McCarthy said yesterday Finley would be "hard pressed" to practice Thursday, but he's out there.
