(Sports Network) - The Green Bay Packers travel to the Show-Me State this weekend for their first road contest of the preseason, a battle with the St. Louis Rams.
The Pack laid an egg in their preseason opener a week ago when newly-acquired Arizona quarterback Carson Palmer tossed a 38-yard touchdown pass in his first game with the team as the Cards downed Green Bay, 17-0, at Lambeau Field.
Aaron Rodgers completed 3-of-5 passes for 62 yards in his only series, including a 50-yard strike to James Jones, for Green Bay, which lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional playoffs last season.
Rodgers' backup, Graham Harrell, was ineffective, completing 12-of-19 passes for just 76 yards and an interception. James Starks had 38 rushing yards on 12 carries for Green Bay.
The Rams also came out on the losing end of their preseason opener in Cleveland, falling to the Browns 27-19.
Sam Bradford was 5-for-8 with 102 yards and a touchdown and Kellen Clemens also had a touchdown pass along with two interceptions on 6-of-13 passing for 116 yards for the Rams, who went 7-8-1 last season as the team finished under .500 for a sixth straight year.
Chris Givens caught three passes for 82 yards and a touchdown and kicker Greg Zuerlein nailed a pair of field goals from beyond 50 yards for St. Louis.
Despite squaring off 93 times (including two playoff meetings) in an all- time series that dates back to 1937, this marks just the fourth preseason meeting between the Packers and Rams with St. Louis holding a 2-1 edge.
