Raiders deal Pryor to Seahawks

Alameda, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Raiders made good on their intention of parting ways with Terrelle Pryor prior to the start of offseason workouts, dealing the deposed starting quarterback to the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on Monday.

The move comes two days after a FoxSports.com report stated that the Raiders would cut Pryor on Monday if unable to find a trade partner.

They did in the Seahawks, who will send a seventh-round pick in the upcoming draft in exchange for the athletic third-year pro.

Pryor started eight of Oakland's first nine games of last season, missing one due to injury, but was replaced by undrafted rookie Matt McGloin as the club's No. 1 quarterback in mid-November. The 24-year-old was deemed expendable by the Raiders after they acquired veteran Matt Schaub from Houston last month.

The Raiders are set to begin offseason training activities on Tuesday and had set a deadline of removing Pryor from the roster before then.

Pryor finished the 2013 campaign with 1,798 passing yards and seven touchdowns while completing 57.4 percent of his attempts and throwing 11 interceptions. His best contributions came as a runner, where the former Ohio State star put up 576 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 83 carries.

The dual threat joins a Seahawks team that has two other mobile quarterbacks on the roster in starter Russell Wilson and veteran backup Tarvaris Jackson.
