Lions sign Darryl Tapp
Allen Park, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - The Detroit Lions have signed defensive end Darryl Tapp.
The move quickly fills the roster hole left by Willie Young's departure as a free agent. Young inked a three-year deal with division-rival Chicago earlier Thursday.
Tapp, 29, played 11 games with Washington last season, recording 10 tackles and one sack.
The Virginia Tech product has 267 tackles and 25 sacks over eight seasons.
Selected in the second round by Seattle in the 2006 draft, he spent his first four seasons in the league with the Seahawks before a three-year stint in Philadelphia.
