Panthers sign Connor
Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Carolina Panthers signed linebacker Dan Connor on Wednesday.
Connor returns to the team that selected him in the third round of the 2008 NFL draft to provide depth at linebacker for a Carolina squad that has won five straight.
The six-year veteran began the season as the starting middle linebacker for the New York Giants, but suffered a neck injury in the season opener against Dallas. He was waived by the Giants on November 4.
Connor has played in 57 career games with 27 starts, recording one sack and 124 tackles with Carolina, Dallas, and New York. He spent his first four seasons with the Panthers.
In other moves, the Panthers signed rookie offensive guard Travis Bond from Minnesota's practice squad, waived offensive guard Sione Fua and placed cornerback James Dockery on injured reserve with a left shoulder injury.
Dockery played in five games this season, recording five tackles.
