Description: Dallas small forward Al-Farouq Aminu is questionable for Thursday's game against Portland due to a strained left knee.
Insight: Aminu did practice Tuesday, so we're leaning to the probable side of questionable. He's averaging just 5.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg and 0.3 apg so his fantasy value is minimal even when healthy.

Insight: Aminu has started 16 of New Orleans' 17 games but came in averaging just 22 minutes per game. However, with Anthony Davis out it appears the team is going to extend Aminu. He has played 75 minutes and compiled 30 points, 30 rebounds and six steals over the last two games.

Description: New Orleans forward Al-Farouq Aminu tallied a career-high 20 rebounds Wednesday in a season-ending loss at Dallas.
Insight: Aminu also contributed 16 points on offense, his third-highest total of the season. He had 17 boards by the time the game reached its halfway point so Aminu could have sat out the second half and he still would have led the team in rebounding.

Insight: Aminu doesn't offer much offensively (7.7 ppg) but he does grab 7.5 rebounds and pick up 1.2 steals and 0.5 blocks per game.

Insight: Aminu has been in coach Monty Williams' doghouse for lacking energy and hustle but he recently moved back into the rotation and now will rejoin the starting lineup. Aminu was a valuable contributor in points, rebounds, assists and steals in the first half of November. This is the first time all season the Hornets will start their expected season-opening lineup.

Insight: Aminu was reportedly benched for lacking passion and only played eight minutes Saturday after picking up a DNP-CD Friday. His production has slipped after a hot start. He's only scored in double figures in three of his last 12 games.

Description: Hornets small forward Al-Farouq Aminu led the team in field goal attempts in the season opener Wednesday.
Insight: Aminu played 37 minutes and scored 17 points with seven rebounds, three assists and two steals on 8-of-16 shooting. Aminu is worth owning for the time being but he could lose his starting SF spot to Ryan Anderson if he doesn't continue to produce.

Description: Aminu matched fellow rookie Blake Griffin with 12 points and eight rebounds in the Clipper loss to the Pacers.
Insight: Aminu has played 28 minutes in each of the last three games and seems to produce moderate numbers. He has a variety of skills and may need to concentrate on one to become a fantasy relevant player. (

Description: Aminu started for the Clippers against the Nets and contributed 14 points, two three-pointers, and five assists.
Insight: Aminu will be an inconsistent producer in his rookie season, but if he gets consistent playing time he might be someone to watch. He is averaging 10.6 points over his last five games. (
11/9/2010 11:04:00 PM
Description: Aminu had 20 points, eight reboundsa and two assists tonight versus the Hornets. He also contributed two steals and hit two threes.
Insight: Aminu led all Clippers players in scoring and did it coming off the bench. If he can get more playing time, he might be a nice add in deeper leagues. (
10/20/2010 7:01:00 AM
Description: Aminu had 15 points and nine rebounds in a loss to the Kings.
Insight: On the downside, Aminu had five turnovers. If he can carve out some playing time behind Blake Griffin and Rasual Butler, Aminu could be a nice sleeper. (

Description: Al-Farouq Aminu struggled in the Vegas summer league, but it might have been because he was putting too much pressure on himself.
Insight: Aminu was holding late-night shooting sessions with Ben Gordon in Vegas, often staying in the gym until 1 a.m. "He never told anybody because he didn't want to brag about his work ethic," said Neil Olshey, the Clippers Vice President of basketball operations. Though this is good news, it's not likely that Aminu will have much of an impact this season. (
