Notes: 2010: Selected by Sacramento in 1st round (5th overall) of the NBA Draft...2011: NBA All-Rookie First Team.
Named a First Team All-American after just a single year at Kentucky...Cousins finished second on the Wildcats in scoring with 15.1 ppg and cleared a team-best 9.8 rpg as he easily recorded a new freshman rebounding record in Lexington, his scoring output the most among first-year players at UK behind only teammate John Wall who is expected to be the top pick in this draft...Named the SEC Freshman of the Year, the center generated a team-leading 20 double-doubles, the most by a Wildcat since 1973 and the fourth-most in program history...A physical presence at both ends of the floor, Cousins has shown great ball-handling skills for a player his size and has quality touch around the rim when finesse is needed...While he fouled out of just two games as a freshman, Cousins did have a problem controlling his emotions on the floor and that often led to sloppy play and poor decision
making...Could be considered a liability at the free throw line, having converted just 60.4 percent of his 268 attempts last season, but hopefully that is something that coaching and practice can help remedy at the next level. |
