Description: Portland forward Nicolas Batum has been diagnosed with a superior labral tear in his right shoulder, according to Candace Buckner of the Columbian.
Insight: The Blazers training staff says that he missed Wednesday's game due to "decreased sensation" in his right shoulder, not the labral tear. Once the feeling returns to his shoulder and he is "confident ... that he can play without getting hurt," he will be able to play. However, he's without a timetable right now.

Description: Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum will shed the brace on his injured wrist in Thursday's game even though his wrist "felt on fire" during his last game. SOURCE: Candace Buckner, The Columbian
Insight: Batum has been playing through a wrist injury for quite some time and he has been reluctant to shoot. He's only averaging 9.3 field-goal attempts (4.4 3PA) per game over his last 20 contests after firing 12.9 per game (6.9 3PA) over his first 42 games.

Insight: Batum (15.3 ppg, 4.5 apg, 5.9 rpg) suffered the injury on a blocked shot attempt in the fourth quarter. Batum has been dealing with wrist issues off and on all season but he's only missed two games. He'll probably be a go for Monday's game versus Charlotte though he won't be 100 percent.

Cold2/13/2013 10:40:00 PM
Description: Portland small forward Nicolas Batum looked awful Wednesday against the Hornets. He finished with just three points on 1-of-11 shooting.
Insight: Batum has scored a combined eight points in his last two contests. It's common knowledge that Batum has been playing through a wrist injury, so fantasy owners shouldn't be surprised to see that he's struggling. Hopefully Batum will use the All-Star break to his advantage and get the medical attention that he needs.

2/10/2013 8:25:00 PM
Description: A wrist injury held Nicolas Batum back at the beginning of this month but he appears to have turned the corner. The Blazers forward is averaging 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.0 blocks and 4.0 threes over his last two games.
Insight: Batum played through the injury but averaged just 8.0 ppg in six games from Jan. 27 to Feb. 6. If you haven't already, be sure to get him back in the lineup.

Cold2/6/2013 11:04:00 PM
Description: Blazers forward Nicolas Batum says he plans to play through a wrist injury but it is clearly holding him back. He has only scored 48 points over his last six games.
Insight: That's 8.0 ppg, nowhere near his seasonal average of close to 16 ppg. Batum's wrist must really be bothering him because he isn't even taking that many shots right now; he has only attempted double-digit shots once in the last six games despite playing a normal minutes workload.

He has averaged just 7.8 ppg over the last five games due to the wrist injury, well below his 15.7 ppg season-long average.

Description: Blazers forward Nicolas Batum is averaging 15.3 points, 7.0 assists, 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 steals, 1.8 blocks and 2.5 threes in his last six games.
Insight: Batum is only shooting 40.3 percent from the field during that span but he did make all 19 of his free-throw attempts. In fact, he has made his last 25 and 59 of his last 64 from the foul line. He seems to be fully recovered from the back injury that ailed him earlier this month.

12/23/2012 10:54:00 AM
Description: Blazers forward Nicolas Batum had a 13-9-8-7 game Saturday. Unfortunately, while the first three are his points, rebounds and assists, respectively, the seven represents his turnovers.
Insight: Batum is only averaging 2.6 turnovers per game so he was likely just having an off night. The multi-faceted forward is putting up 14.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 2.0 steals, 2.3 blocks and 2.8 threes in 41 minutes over four games since returning from a back injury.
