Notes: 2012: Selected by Houston in 1st round (18th overall) of the NBA Draft.
Named to the All-SEC Second Team as a sophomore as he helped lead the Kentucky
Wildcats to the 2012 national championship...Started all but four of the 38 games in which he played this past season, placing third on the team in both scoring (12.3 ppg) and rebounding (7.2 rpg)...Logged 68 blocked shots as he loomed in the shadows of UK superstar Anthony Davis in the paint...The 34th player in program history to register at least 1,000 points and 500 rebounds...Only five prior Kentucky players recorded 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 140 blocks...Originally declared for the 2011 NBA Draft after just one year with the Wildcats, but did not sign with an agent and withdrew his name from
consideration in order to return to Lexington for one more season...Initially committed to the University of Washington but then decided on Kentucky...Still young and a bit rough around the edges, he has all the necessary tools to make it at the pro level as long as he can remain focused on the task at hand. |
