Description: Mavericks guard Jose Calderon had 22 points, eight assists, four rebounds and six triples in 37 minutes Tuesday against the Thunder.
Insight: Calderon (11.5 ppg, 4.8 apg, 2.4 rpg) took an elbow to the face early in Sunday's game against the Nets and didn't return, but he's fine. The 32-year-old's assists are down as he's had to share the backcourt with Monta Ellis while also playing with Dirk Nowitzki, who doesn't put up shots after getting the ball as quickly as some of the other top-scoring power forwards in the NBA. However, Calderon has made a career-high 2.4 threes per game.

Description: Mavericks guard Jose Calderon took an elbow to the face Sunday against Brooklyn and is questionable for Tuesday's game against Oklahoma City.
Insight: Devin Harris would handle most of the point guard duties for Dallas if Calderon can't return though the offense would likely run through hot Monta Ellis (24 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 5.5 apg over the past two contests).

Insight: A bruised knee limited Calderon to 19 minutes on Friday night. That broke up a string of four games in a row with double-digit points. Calderon should be good for his usual 12 points and five assists tonight against the Blazers, assuming he doesn't aggravate his knee injury.

Description: Dallas point guard Jose Calderon (ankle) is a game-time decision Wednesday against the Pelicans, according to Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com.
Insight: After missing Saturday's game due to a bone bruise in his ankle, Calderon returned Tuesday and played 33 minutes. But the back-to-back may make it tough for Calderon to play Wednesday.

Description: Dallas point guard Jose Calderon (11.1 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 4.9 apg) is questionable for Tuesday's game against Charlotte because of a bone bruise in his right ankle.
Insight: He is going to be a game-time decision. Gal Mekel would get the start if Calderon is sidelined again, though he won't be a great fantasy option. Playing 26 minutes against Minnesota on Saturday, he managed six points and seven assists.

Description: Mavericks point guard Jose Calderon (hamstring) will return to action Saturday, according to Bryan Gutierrez of ESPNDallas.com.

Description: Mavericks point guard (hamstring) Jose Calderon will miss the next two preseason games, according to Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com.
Insight: Calderon suffered a left hamstring strain on Oct. 2 and hasn't returned to action yet, but he should be ready for the start of the season. The 32-year-old averaged 29.6 minutes, 11.3 points, 7.1 assists, 2.4 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 1.8 threes last season. He played 73 games, his most since 2007-08.

7/6/2013 3:55:00 PM
Description: ESPN's Marc Stein is reporting that former Raptors and Pistons point guard Jose Calderon has reached an agreement with Dallas on a new four-year, $29 million contract.
Insight: It's not Dwight Howard but Calderon is a decent enough consolation prize. The 31-year-old from Spain is a terrific passer (7.2 apg for his career) and an even better long range shooter (42.9 percent on three-pointers last season). The Mavs were fifth in the league in assists last season and they should be a top five team again this year with pass-first Calderon running the point.

4/18/2013 11:54:00 AM
Description: Detroit point guard Jose Calderon recorded the highest three-point percentage in the league this season (46.1 percent).
Insight: To be fair, he wasn't even in the top 50 in three-pointers attempted this season (57th with 282 three-point tries). Golden State's Stephen Curry led the association in both three-pointers made (272) and threes attempted (600). Calderon has shot 39.9 percent from deep in his career.

4/12/2013 1:18:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Jose Calderon has been downgraded to out for Friday's game against Charlotte with a strained right triceps, according to Keith Langlois of Pistons.com.
Insight: Calderon has missed three of the last four games and the team has indicated it will not bring him back unless he is close to 100 percent. With just a few games remaining, it's possible he won't play again this season. Rodney Stuckey is the guy to have in the Pistons' backcourt.

Description: Pistons guard Jose Calderon (arm) has already been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers.
Insight: Calderon has missed two of the last three games and the team has indicated it will not bring him back unless he is close to 100 percent. 4/8/2013 10:46:00 AM
Description: Pistons guard Jose Calderon is questionable for Wednesday's game against Cleveland with a strained right triceps.
Insight: Calderon played through the injury Saturday in Minnesota but he just didn't look like himself (six points, four assists in 27 minutes) and it's possible that he could be shut down for the remainder of the season. Rodney Stuckey (11.3 ppg, 7.1 apg) will get the start at point guard if Calderon doesn't play.
